To be fair having now seen the current photo of his car - it's almost guaranteed to be better than anything else he could do to it for similar money

Black, white, orange and silver is a bit of an acquired taste.
The panel gaps are a bit...erm... artistic.

There is a lot more scope for improvement than for things to go south.

Not even that,
Should have put the cards the other way round.

Then he could play Patience while waiting for the paint to dry.

Cheers guys.

Yeah it should look alot better when its all one color haha

Heard from the owner. its all filler-ed and primer-ed and ready to go into the booth on Monday. They must have used about 10lt of filler on the car haha. there were plenty dents.

I actually painted it with a roller two years ago with Massey Ferguson super red tractor paint..... it was... emm.... all the same color anyway haha

I've had a quote for £1,200(ish) for a full strip down & respray plus colour change if I want with a local firm. I thought that was pretty cheap though considering the work involved. Was expecting over £2k!

I was going to ask that, if its only a track car and doesn't have to be a perfect job, why not just spray it yourself?

If you are prepared to get your hands dirty then it would be even easier (and cheaper) to brush paint it! It can be done successfully using yacht paints which have a long open time (and the patience to do the job properly,) and good brushes (not £2 each ones- more like £12). Not possible to do metallics thoughfrown

its metallic iv gone for, Renault flame red. the 2015 color of the Clios. I kept seeing them about thinking that's a real nice color actually!

Yes i might get a slagging from some Mazda enthusiast that its not a Mazda color but i like the new flame red color and i think it would be nice on the RX7.

Haha yes yacht paint does work well. one of my pals has done his derby car with it.

Id love to learn how to spray but by the time ive bought a big enough compressor, guns, filler and sanding equipment never mind the space id rather just chuck it in at these guys smile

maybe because LOL means laugh out loud, it possibly isn't that funny and might only be a haha?

haha is also added to make posts look less serious as it can be hard to put across humor with typing

Did we get the finished product yet?

For a trackday car I can certainly see the point of this but will be interesting to get an idea of how passable it is.

I wanna see the paintjob. I imagine its terrible but if not too bad its would be cheaper to transport a cheapish car up there for paint than to get it done locally.
