That was a lorry turning biggrin

Yup im a Fail at life
Do you prefer to go down the image of you doing the donut pisstake or the scientific calculation of the width of the tracks being too narrow?

Your call, I'm up for either argument.

You are "up for" an internet argument?

And you speak of failures at life? Staggering.

Yeah, don't take it too literally, the pisstake had already been done in the post.

If you want the dents filled and sanded then apparently yes. If you don't or you do that bit first, yourself, than maybe they will do the whole thing for £400.

I really, really don't get the animosity and sneering on this. Look, one more time with feeling, this is a quick blowover. No more, no less. It won't be great but it will be OK for a country job. If this is good enough for you, brilliant. If not, then get your hand in your pocket for £2k or so. Your choice. It really, really isn't complicated. If you drive a £30k 911 that's collected a few stonechips and parking dings, it's not for you. If it's a track car, or an old Landy, or a low budget resto, then maybe this is good enough.

What they said. Cheap and cheerful - would like to see closeups just to get an idea of the level of cheerfulness but as others said for a trackday, Landy or small van this seems okay.

I see lots of vans on their Facebook page - buying a late model van with rough paint and getting it blown over for that price could be very attractive

I don't see the appeal of this when you can use a good yacht enamel (cost c£50) and put it on with a good brush c£12, ad get at least as good a result - ok you've got to put in the effort..... but if cost (or minimising it) is your goal! why not do it for less than 20% of the sum?

I guess it depends on how much your time is worth?

Might shortly be getting my hands on a Cat D car I'll be using as a runaround. Needs 2 new doors and the likelihood of finding them in the right colour is pretty much nil.

Good candidate for trying these guys out properly.....

Any full respray under £1000 is highly unlikely to be a satisfactory job - many over £1000 are poor.

Materials alone for modern metallic paints are around £250.

Which leaves one day to prep and spray it.
I think the money you guys pay for resprays down south is eye watering, you 'can' get fantastic resprays round my way (Fife in Scotland)for a grand. In fact guy a mile from me is the best painter you'll get,he's fantastic and is constantly busy,he's had Porsches,Ferraris everything in,he's unbelievably good.Getting harder to get him to do my projects due to his trade work,Arnold Clark and the likes.
Best test of a painter is black paint.I remember he done an old gti Scirocco for me and when i excitedly went into the booth to see it i peered close up to the paint,as you do to inspect it,i just couldn't see the paint! It was like a mirror, all i could see was me and the walls of the booth!! ;-)
