Mate give it up. It's just not possible to get a job worth discussing in any way positive. It'll look st and wont last, cost of resources, delivery and living standards in the UK guarantee it'll be toilet. Unless this is a charity, subsidised or illegal immigrant sweat shop.

To be fair it might end up ok in certain circumstances if all you want is a same colour blow over and you do a bit of prep work yourself.

You'd need your head checking to get a colour change though.

WELL,

sorry for the thread revival.

Ive just put my RX7 into these guys and you know what. all you guys with negative comments are WRONG! here are some reasons they do it cheaper than all you rip off painters

1. cars are Finnish with gun finish = Saves time and money
2. They dont have cheap Chinese paint.. if there's even such thing! most spray shops spray a panel here or there and only buy small quantities of paint. these guys paint FULL cars exclusivity so you guessed it .. they buy there paint in bulk. Masive bulk meaning they get paint much cheaper than your usual paint shop.
3. each car is prepped and painted in 3 days = less time, saving money
4. they do around 3 cars per day, the shear quantity meaning they don't need to make as big a profit as spray shops.
5. they have done hundreds of cars so you could say they were exsperinced in full cars.
6. they dont remove bumpers, doors , bonnets etc = less time making it cheaper

so if any of you work in a car body shop can you tell me the last time you done a full car?

these guys are VERY cheap and they get a hard time from almost everyone because there taking business away and rightly so.

My RX7 is a Weekend / Track toy so i cant justify a 3.5k+ spray job that will most likely end up in a gravel trap or some chav in a polo in the side of me.

Yes i know there will be allot of orange peel. There is plenty laqure on there to wet sand and polish out.

i get it back in 6 days. ill add pictures to show you what there capable of wink
So each car takes 3 days? At minimum wage of £6.50, assuming 8 hours a shift, thats £156 just for the labour alone, with out the employers NI contribution on top, which according to this:

http://www.accountingservicesforbusiness.co.uk/cal...

Takes that £6.50/hr for the employee to a £9.26/hr cost for the employer. So the £156 take home has just become £228.

Thats before paint, other materials, rent, rates, energy, other staff, phone bills, profit, coporation tax, etc.

Do you want me to continue?

Also, if it take 3 days to 'paint' the car, why have they got yours for at least 6 days?

isnt this the liquid rubber paint that you just spray the whole car then peel of the bits you don't want painting?
Windows lights ect, isn't there a video on YouTube that shows a guy doing it and it takes an hour or so to do the lot.
It will be Matt Finnish but so long as the car is clean first it will be smooth£400, if I wanted a Matt Finnish in plasti dip seems ok.

Just because it's done cheaper doesn't make a proper respray a rip off. A full respray is a different service to what you offer, by your own admission. Having to strip and prep a car is an excercise which burns up a lot of man hours and so it's expensive. This doesn't make it a rip off.

google sleuthing...

Gavbey appears to be genuine, hes nowhere near glasgow and has owned the RX7 since 2012 probably why its 6 days to get the car back... transportation takes time.

Id say they company don't offer a respray, its what would have been classed in the old days as a blow over.

cover the glass and wheels
rub down
point and shoot, then leave to dry.

Looking at their facebook page I'm always irked by companies who wont allow you to post on their page so you cant see how many possibly annoyed customers they have.

As Gavbey has said, its a track car...probably as much as I'd trust them with.

This.

Firsly, PH is full of people criticizing anything new or different.

Secondly, PH is full of people implying that the first person to give a good review for something must be the owner of said company!

Thirdly, It's probably just a blowover rather than a full of respray - which is probably enough for most people!

Lastly - Resprays are ridiculously expensive for what they are, we need more competition in the market place to drive down the price. Competition like this is a good thing.

Hi there!

i couldnt agree more. it made me angry seeing how much people were slagging you guys off without actually seeing any of your work.

in tunning my car i have proved hundreds of times that "you get what you pay for" is simply not true in most cases. i suppose im out there to prove the forum keyboard warriors wrong smile
