I jokingly thought "Bet it's French" again earlier when the fire trucks fought their way through the A13 gridlock..

A short time later...

We had a 2004 C3 - Was almost boring because it was so reliable. The only thing which killed it was another driver plowing in to it.

that era of C3 was really, really bad for reliability. They'd just started introducing complex electronics into the cheaper models and fk me did it go wrong a lot. I ran a few of them and one I had when I was trying to get out trapped me inside by locking the doors, all the dash lit up like a Xmas tree and all the windows went down together and i couldn't get them back up again! It was raining frown

The wife has a 53 plate C3, it is abused and not looked after, it has never let her down.

sigh. Again, just because there are examples that haven't shat the bed umpteen times doesn't mean they're overall a reliable car. Jus because someone wins the lottery doesn't mean it's likely you'll win it.

Is that ironic? You do realise your own experience/perception as a prediction of french car reliability is on equally shaky ground. lol

i had 5 or 6 of them personally, and dealt with the many hundreds of justifiably shouty customers for a variety of models. I used to sell Citroens, it was our family business.

I was actually just making a statement, I wasn't using my experience as the basis that I believed that all French cars are ultra reliable and I'm pretty sure that I didn't say that either!
