Bmw1 series 20k miles, inside edges of Continental tyres on the front have worn in a weird fashion, if you run a finger round the diameter it feels like they have been scooped out every 20mm similar to ripples on water, result is lots of road noise
My explanation is not brilliant but it is a pattern of wear that could not possibly be caused by the car.

Anyone else experienced this issue?

Feathering it is called.

Pirelli and Conti runflats do this badly.

It happens because your camber is out, however in the case of run flats it happens because there is not enough flex in the side wall which gives the same result as the camber being out.

Common fault characteristic on Nissan 350Zs with OEM Bridgestones.

(Also known as cupping in the USA)

Yeah it was Bridgestones that I had the issue with not Pirellis, I swapped the them fro Pirellis.

When researching it it seemed conti and bridgestones were known for it.

I had bad inner wear on my original Bridgestone runflats.

Didn't have it on my replacement Pirreli runflats or the normal tyres I've used since.
