I didn't realise some were such a bh. I'm used to BMW's and they're always easily accessible and vertical.
Not to rub it into anyone's face, but they are a joy.

Of the cars I've owned, the worst was by far my Sunbeam-Lotus - a right royal PITA.

Jaguar XJ6 are pretty awkward, Daewoo Matiz are pretty tight as well, however the most irritating one I have owned is the Audi 80.
The undertray has to come off but it needs to swing down to almost vertical to unhook at the front, the problem is if you are doing it without a lift the blasted thing cannot be removed.

Alfa's Busso V6 is a right pain, on the traverse mounted FWD cars its on the back of the engine up quite high. or at least it was on my 166.
This, the power steering (I think) pipes have to be unbolted and moved out the way, at least on the 147GTA. Absolute PITA.

R53 Mini Cooper S, let's put the filter at the back of the engine bay at a funny angle and then put a ridiculously large (35mm iirc) hex head on the oil filter casing...

Definately this, The filter on my 3.0 166 is positively the worst I've ever seen to change. A MX-5 is a doddle in comparison.
Yep, utter pain on the GTV as well... it's not as if you can just crawl under the front either!

I seem to remember 1.8 and 2.0 Zetec engined Focuses (Foci?) being a pain. At the back if the engine and wheel had to be removed to be accessed.

Don't recall the filter on my 1.8 Mk1 MX5 being too difficult.
yes My St170 has a oil cooler sandwiched between the filter and block with the coolant pipes in the way, no space to get tools in to remove. The trick is with spin on filters is to lube the seal on the new filter before install and only hand tighten. Then clean the whole area with degreaser (I use brake cleaner). When you next go to remove use a orange gripper glove and it will undo by hand, makes the whole process easier.

Worst one I ever had was on a Mini Van ( H as in ABC123H) ,SHOWS UP AS 1969, BUT NEW TO ME IN 1970. Filter element in a metal cover, but only accessible from underneath. Mini cars had a removable grill which made the job simple, but on the van it was a conjuring trick to stop getting arms etc covered in hot oil .
