A late model so these were galv'd from new. Auto box is selectable 2/4WD. Fluids are nothing special so 80/90 throughout bar the auto box which is ATF2/3. I always used 10/40 wt on the engine. Watch for leaky cracked exhaust manifolds. A solid reliable 4x4 and parts are reasonable if you avoid Chrysler dealers. I had my last one for 7 years and I never had a problem in 60k miles and only replaced the normal service stuff.

These old jeeps have bags of character, the 4.0 litre six will drive to the moon and back.

This particular one looks well, if it were closer I'd have a snoop around it myself.

I had a '98 cherokee for a while, it is one of the best cars I have had

Never seen a 3dr one befor, did it come to the uk?
Don't think they did, this one was canadian and was initially owned by canadian railways, I bought it off a trader who had been using it with his snowplough for clearing his car lot during the winter, The back seat was pretty awkward to get into as the front seats didnt slide as the seat back folded -fine for the kids, but adults struggle
