Hi all,

I have recently purchased a new Audi S3 Sportsback 2014 Stronic (soon to be delivered) im happy with the claimed fuel consumption that the brochure tells me and what the salesmen are telling me
i was wondering if anyone could give me the real life consumption and how many miles i am most likely to get out of a tank.

I probably should of done more homework prior to buying but it was one of those YOLO moments.

Thanks in advance

Innes

I've had mine for 9 months, early 30's for my commute to work, mid to late 20's if pushing a bit harder. If you drive at 40mph
everywhere you might reach the manufacturers stated fuel consumption.

had it at 37mpg on a long motorway journey once.

Thanks for that! Im sure mine will be mid to low 20's for the first couple of months! So how many miles on a full tank on average would you say?

Spritmonitor is a powerful too. According to it, the average for the 52 2013/2014 S3s on the database is 29mpg. The lowest is 22mpg, the best 40. Seems reasonable enough to me.

You have the brochure, which includes the fuel tank capacity. Now you have a realistic fuel consumption. One gallon is 4.55 litres. I'm sure you can calculate the range for yourself!

An S3 is a rocketship compared to my car and I just cannot fathom the mentality that makes a person buy a fast car then worry about fuel. If you are going to mince along slow enough to get 35mpg out of a car that must be well over 200hp, you might as well by a lower powered version and either thrash the bks off it or drive it just as slow and use significantly less fuel. If I got my car or any of its competitors down to 35mph there would be a rolling police road block and police helicopters waiting for me.

Thanks for your input, however i am only asking what the realistic fuel consumption is compared to what the brochure claims, im certainly not worrying about it. And i just cannot Fathom the mentality that makes a person buy a lower powered version and thrash the bks of it?! the mind boggles!!

Colleague had a 60 plate driven hard, very hard really. It's just hit 100,000 miles and returns anything from 20 up to mid 30s on a steady run. His is generally nearer 20 though.

I just got rid of mine after eleven months and 6000 miles - 26mpg average.
260 miles from a tank.
I wasn't driving it that hard.
