Looks like David Blunketts wrapping company is not doing as well as planned.

Personally, I would never but a wrapped car unless I knew the condition of the underlying paintwork before hand.
I've read this several times and am no closer to understanding how that would work.

If he means did I know the paint underneath, yes I did as it wasn't wrapped when I got it. Paint was perfect like most cars from Mercedes with 100 miles on the clock

Didn't see that pun Butter Face wobble

That's some shoddy work there. cant see why the hate for having it wrapped though. We refurb Merc cars that have been on lease and when a wrap is done properly the paints in much better condition than non wrapped cars.

Although the car that turned up wrapped and after taking it off we found a very badly repaired and painted boot area. Clearly the wrap had been added to hid the shocking work!

I would insist on getting their insurance details and having the wrap taken off and any repair work done. The grill for starters.

Why people vandalise new cars with this crap is totally beyond me. What goes through peoples minds to think it's a good idea to drag scalpels all over a lovely car. Mental.

Good luck on the battle for your £2k but seriously, it was a crap idea however you fluff it up.

Scalpels aren't dragged over the paintwork though. Most wraps are done with no cutting on the paint at all.

There will be paint damage - I'll put money on it.

Inside door jambs, joins, near trim lines etc etc.

EDIT - OP if you are getting nowhere then point them in the direction of this thread and say you finding it hard not to share their details

I really do feel for the OP, but on a side note I always wonder what people do for a living to be able to afford things like this? Given their judgement skills and all.

Wasn't that the whole point of a satin wrap?

Unlucky OP. It is a bad piece of workmanship by the look of all your photo's.

I think you are right to want it removed and inspected. I hope you have not paid cash for the wrap!

Allthough that should not halt your claim.

I find it more amusing that so many people have such a massive stick up their arse about vinyl wrapping cars. It's not exactly a new thing.

Only on PH could this be made the OPs fault for getting burned by a supposedly reputable company doing an awful job.

Especially when you consider that cars are even factory wrapped. I've stripped and re-wrapped several RS500's and the paintwork is always perfect underneath. There are also people paying big money to have there cars wrapped in paint protection films. They don't get sneered at.

Hi again OP

Is the company only involved with wrapping or is it an 'add on service' to their main business. Ie is it primarily a car detailing business or similar?
