I'm in need of a solid towing car. It needs to be capable of towing a 1.5 ton twin axle Geneva Super Touring Excel 547 S Alpine Long. It also needs to carry my wife, four children, and our two German Sheppards. It would be nice to return reasonable MPG but obviously there are tradeoffs at my budget.

Now the car below looks to fit the bill, what do you guys think? Does anyone have any experience towing large loads in one?

2 adults, 4 children and 2 large dogs in one of those would be great fun, if slightly illegal. wink

Sounds like you would be better off with one of these.

108,000 miles, only 1,000 of which were 'faultless'?
OP you'd be better off with a Renault 5 to be honest.

This looks like quite a good example of towing a large caravan with a fairly small car.
