All Seasons Tyres.. A myth?!?!
Discussion
Well no, clearly not.
But a certain "tyre" place today had no idea what All Season tyres were. He asked me three times to confirm, even double checking I didn't mean Winters because he had three types of Winters he could sell me...
It was a bit of an odd situation. Ah well, back to searching the internet for good VFM all Season tyres it is.

I think the biggest all season tyre I've seen in car sizes is the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons in 225/50 R17.
I believe they're a better winter tyre than a full winter tyre for our current winters:

Have Vredestein Quatrac 3s on my van throughout the year and find them OK in most conditions. I run the rest of the family fleet on winter tyres when it gets colder and snowier and they definitely outperform the all-season Quatracs on snow.
The Quatracs are certainly better than summer tyres in winter conditions (though noisier). Overall, they don't do anything particularly badly or particularly well. That's not condemning them because for drivers in some parts of the UK, who see only occasional snow, they could be a useful compromise.

When I tried to get all season tyres from my local, the guy told me that regular tyres are all season tyres. Didn't have a clue. Didn't make any difference though as noone makes a decent (i.e. one with good reviews) all season tyre in the size my car takes anyway.
The Nokian WR A3 is called an all season tyre in certain climates.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
