90s style numberplates?
Discussion
Not that you'd ever find anyone pedantic enough to care. I'm sure they are legal on cars which would have originally worn the pre-Charles Wright script plates. As in, you could get a set made up to display on your car without issue if the car would have been first registered wearing 90's plates, just the same as some classics wearing black and white plates.
I believe I read that cars of the period are allowed to wear their original plates but any replacement plates must conform to the new standard... As has been said already, unlikely to run into a copper pedantic enough to notice / care but I thought I'd mention it before this thread got shat upon by the "ROFL STYLISED NUMBERPLATES ARE FOR SHOW PURPOSES ONLY" brigade.
I guess if you do get pulled you're going to have a hard time convincing anyone that your shiny new numberplates are 15+ years old

I used Tippers https://www.tippersvintageplates.co.uk/phdi/p1.nsf... for raised letter type plates in white and yellow. They say these were until 1991? They also say they have remnant stock of other styles so may be worth an email?
