v8 with low miles for £1600:

Here's a 3.9 with lowish miles, in Nord Pas de Calais, so an easy pick up for someone, and only £850, although the motor sounds borked:

A 1975 for £1200!

Am oh so tempted to import a late 3 door from France and do a 'backdate' - if it's good enough for 911s.....
Different shells. . Not even the same as CSKs. Lots of people imported shells from Europe when CSK values started popping upwards but soon discovered there were quite big differences.
Re a really big difference between early 2 doors and late, obviously you have the fuel filler area changing but a subtle difference but really noticeable when pointed out is that the rear wing panels of the early cars have a very subtle outward bow, flare on them whereas the later panals are dead flat.
Trust me, the market is going as anal as the Series I Landy market had gone

All very interesting - although the 3.9 seems to have thrown a con rod through the block!http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/738784103.htm?ca=...

Yep - I noticed that after. I had copied and pasted the ad, but put it up anyway!!
A brief perusal of mobile.de reveals that prices for early ones in Germany have gone similarly mental. One that jumps out at me is this 1984 for £2600, located in Pfaffenhofen just north of Munich.

Quick flight over, Xmas market, bit of Glühwein, purchase and drive back to Blighty for PH Hero points?

A bloke I know near where I live has one of the press launch cars that he originally bought for spares some years ago: only the press cars were on 'H' plates and have proper Solihull registrations, e.g. NXC xxxH, the first cars sold retail were on a 'J'.
The car in question needs a total restoration and he was offered £50,000 for it in its present state! Not surprisingly he is restoring it now rather than using it for spares! So the asking price for the car in this article is not unrealistic...

So how come there's loads of eighties/nineties RR's for around 1.5-3k on ebay ?
But one, restore it to top, original level and see how much that has cost This is the great thing about Classics, there are lots of rotted dogs out there but still gems to be found that you can restore at home and achieve a great uplift in value.
I recently bought an '89 at a great price that is in fantastically solid condition and with two owners and acceptable mileage. I will get free motoring and a profit on that.
I also have one of the original 'In Vogues'. That needs some interior work but the frame and chassis is very solid. These will be the next Rangie to go up as they are the limited edition model that defined the whole luxury SUV market. Only 400 or so made in the original run.
My Suffix A is in absolutely mint condition but not original. It was restored as a bitsa. I have all the trim to return it to original but will in fact be converting it to be my daily. As a result it won't be worth a patch on an original but I will be able to convert it back if desired.

You'd buy that for the interior. Looks to be in great condition.
Shows how little I know, I thought the interior with the hanging roof lining and dodgy carpets was the worst thing about it.soad said:
