Nissan Hakosuka GT-R: Time For Tea?

Nissan is celebrating 45 years of the GT-R with a beige R35; this is a much better tribute

Yes, we've featured the Nissan 'Hakosuka' GT-R in a video before. But we reserve the right to feature it again and again, because it's brilliant. This five-minute clip will reinforce why.

There's nothing especially fancy about this production. It's predominantly onboard (including a camera on the tacho that runs to 10...) with a few external shots. But as with every Hakosuka video, this is all about the noise. From inside the car that feral straight-six howl is all the more intense and the way it revs through to beyond 8,000 rpm is mesmerising. The gent behind the wheel seems fairly handy too.

And that's about it really. Five minutes (well four actually, the last minute is talking) of heaven as imagined by Hakosuka. There's quite a legacy already created by the GT-R; here's to the next few decades!

Enjoy the vid.

Fantastic sound!

FYI that "gent" is ex-Nissan factory driver Motoharu Kurosawa, the author obviously hasn't watched enough Best Motoring episodes! smile

Love the straight six howl, amazing cars even the mechanicals are almost works of art, but the price's can be Ludacris http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/2014/08/16/news-kp...

I'm all for large rev counters, but this one is ridiculous. Why does it need to take up all the passenger side of the dash wink

Apart from that the sounds is epic. Really can't beat something so high revving.

Fantastic noise. Much want for this and a 240Z. And an R34, what a shame Nissan dropped the RB engine, truly legendary.

Compared to the likes of 911 RS' selling for more than a Carrera GT?

It was only when I saw the URL on the peak of his visor that I finally realised that wasn't shot in 1971. Derr.

I was wondering about the driver's seat and the boom work for the camera!

Sounded glorious.

Nope, that was his father Motoharu "Gan-san" Kurosawa on the video, as mentioned above by energy.

Proper analogue driving and an engine noise that puts yesterdays Porsche at Spa to shame.

If anybody has any questions I'd be happy to take a shot at answering them.
Just try shutting me up.
