Weird how some "assume" OZ is full of nasty beasties. In 4 months we didnt see 1 snake.

But that would be my luck - they can smell my fear.

Don't you know we train the bities on tourists?

The saltwater crocs up north seem to have a thing for Germans, but the snakes and spiders go for anyone with a foreign accent.

Unfortunately, sharks seem untrainable, and snack on Australian surfers as happily as on tourists.

Oh, and make sure she lifts the toilet seat before sitting. Can hide some rather unpleasant creepy-crawlies.

Been here 7 years and never seen a snake outside a zoo exhibit.

Spiders on the other hand.....

(that bit of wood is 6 inches wide btw)

Not uncommon for people to get in, drive away, flick down the sunvisor and have one of these drop into their lap yikes

IIRC spiders kill more people in road accidents that by biting them.

Anyway, enjoy your trip biggrin

I've done it in the other direction but from Adelaide to Sydney. Took a couple of days. Was pretty interesting despite the nothing. But the Nullaboor Plain to Perth is something else as far as the monotony is concerned...
