PistonHeads and Tyre Giant

Discounts for PHers thanks to new commercial partnership with online retailer Tyre Giant

A new deal between PistonHeads and Tyre Giant means PHers will be able to get the best prices on replacement rubber and a direct line to boss and keen PHer Travis Coleman - 'Dopamine' in the PH forums - for advice and feedback.

"Tyre Giant has always had an 'online price guarantee', but having been a member of the PH community for over a decade I would really like to get tyres to the PistonHeads community at lower prices than those we publish for the general public," says Travis. "We can do this through voucher codes that will go out in the PH newsletters and directly from me through people PMing me on the forum. I am also keen to develop the range on offer to meet some of the niche requirements of the PH community with specialist tyres for track days, classics and so on."

Half a million tyres in stock; deals for PHers
Half a million tyres in stock; deals for PHers
A special thread will be created along the lines of a similar one for Opie Oils that many of you have used previously, this time geared up for any tyre related questions. These will be answered by Travis or one of his team. Check there before you buy too as there will often be special offers and discount codes.

The Tyre Giant website itself is straightforward to use and is backed up by a significant organisation that ships out 11,000 tyres per day from a constantly replenishing stock of over 500,000 tyres across five national depots. These are then delivered to your door, mail order style, or fitted locally by one of the 1,200 fitters currently working in partnership with Tyre Giant.

If you cannot find what you are looking for on the site, or discover the tyres you need cheaper elsewhere, PM Travis directly and he'll sort you out.

Juast used the link to do a quick search for my rears (285/30 18). Disappointingly, the search results didn't show Michelin PS2.

Brilliant, what a great idea!

Thanks Travis for organising, I'm sure it'll pay off!

Sadly, I've just replaced the tyres on our cars in an attempt to prepare early for winter.

All these years I've been told "the early bird catches the worm"...
but I've been right all along - the second mouse gets the cheese!

Next year....

I decided to click the link a few days ago and did a quick comparison. I was pleased (and surprised!) to see that the deal for my tyres is cheaper than BlackCircles (fitted).

Well done, chaps.

If the discounted price can compete with what I usually pay from Camskill and Tyreleader (and Oponeo) then I will be using this new service if its miles off then they need to adjust their discount to match these guys:

I was ready to slate this as another pointless advertising thing, but the prices aren't bad at all - 21p cheaper than mytyres.net per corner for the specific tyres I use on my BMW (star marked michelins).

Hello Gents,

Thanks for the comments so far smile

Zoin, I will get a price for you on the 285/30/18 PS2s for you and will PM it over tomorrow morning smile - One of the things I am keen to do is see how the PH audience want the stock we carry to develop, so will look to get in a couple of sets of these in smile

FastRich, thanks for the comments smile PM me when you are up for the next set and I'll see if I can do you a deal smile

Pints, rallycross RC1 and Fattb; yeah we price check daily against most of the big competitors and try to be cheaper on most lines... If you find we are not cheaper though, PM me and I'll sort it. I want this to be the best place to go for tyres for the PH community, period.

whoami & Shaw Tarse - Looking at your time stamp, I reckon you hit the site as we updated the stock file (16:30 each day) which results in about a minute where the site has been known to misbehave - sorry about that (we also do one at 2am, but the competitors started to reprice mid-afternoon so if we want sales in the evening we have to react!)If you still have problems let me know and I'll try and help.

CraigyMc - thanks! When you are in the market to buy, PM me and I'll see if I can do any better than 21p wink

Cheers

Travis

Great idea and hopefully you'll be able to build up a picture on the most frequently bought PH tyre sizes and this will lead to greater discounts.

Should cut down on the number of 'What size tyre' threads! biggrin

Great idea, I've bookmarked the PH page thumbup

Price for my favoured tyres on my Focus RS is certainly keen.... unfortunately you don't seem to list the right size for the rear of my Ultima. If you're able to look into 335/30/18 Michelin / Good Year / Pirelli options, there's a few of us UK based folks who'd be keen to hear from you!

Hi Gents,

356Speedster - Thanks for that smile Will look into the 335/30/18 options for you and post back tomorrow.

Charlie Boy - generally we are quite a bit cheaper than KwikFit, but sometimes they sneak through with a good price - PM me and let me know what you they are cheaper on and I'll sort it for you smile

Cheers

Hi Travis

I don't need tyres at the moment, but thought i'd take a look to see what you could do.
A good choice for my Impreza, but only 3 for my kit car 205/50/15, which I though was a fairly standard size. Having said that one of the choices was a Bridgestone at a good price, so might try something like this next time.

Any chance of an option to search for track/fast road tyres?

Some website feedback from an Android user - the home page has scrolling tyre price comparisons, but the wording doesn't line up and crashes into the prices. The tyre search has coloured boxes for filters but the words have disappeared off the bottom of the box, so unreadable.

Shouldn't this be moved to General gassing and made sticky (like the Opie Oils thread)? It's in PH Shop at the moment so will get lost quickly

Anyway, best wishes and hope this works well for you

Wow, that's an annoying website. Maybe a little brain numbed after a days graft but I can't seem to get a price on 4 tyres (front and rear different sizes) with fitting. Surely it can't be too hard to add to basket and then enter postcode for fitting?
