Good morning all,

Again, sorry to everyone for the late responses this week - normal service should now resume smile

Voguely - The Vehicle Manufacturers (VMs) will work with the tyre manufacturers during the testing of their new vehicles resulting in either entirely bespoke treat patterns/rubber compounds (as will be the case on higher end vehicles) or just approved versions of existing treads/rubber for more main stream stuff.

In the case of Aston, likely to be the former, thhough that is absolutely not to say that Michelin and the others won't have some tyres that do as good or better jobs than the ones the VMs originally specified, if only because time moves on as does tyre tech. Michelin SS get a near universally good press and I think it is safe to assume that they will be great on your car.

As for the price, let me know your sizes and the best price you have found and I will beat it. smile

billy939 - Oh how I love manufacturer pricing and marking biggrin Load rating on the two you found is identical so you're all good to go for the cheaper ones - I can knock a couple of ££s off for you though as a fellow PHer smile PM me and I'll send you a discount code on Monday smile

oldnbold - PM sent smile

CraigyMc - PM Sent smile

TooMany2cvs - Cooper proving to be a problem, but I hope to have an answer for you Monday first thing - really sorry about the delay.

Cheers

Travis

Just had a quote. Totally worth it. Slight SNAFU at my end:

If the missus hadn't unexpectedly gone and sorted them herself (I told her the model and size of Michelins I was thinking of buying for her car: she went to Costco, joined up on the spot and bought them there herself), I'd have been buying them from TG this morning.

Anyway, I'll be asking TG for my next set of tyres.

Hey Travis,

Just want to say a big thanks for the superb service, price and comms! Cant fault your brilliant service mate.

Both me and my friend have had the tyres fit today, and we couldn't be happier.

Excellent price and super quick delivery.

Good luck with the new venture. I'm sure if you keep up this sort of service it will no doubt be a great success..

All the best. Speak next time I need more smile

Cheers
Imran

Morning all,

Bunch of vouchers sent out this morning smile

Toomany2cvs - I am really sorry, but the Coopers are just impossible for me to get my hands on. I feel bad as I know this dragged on a bit. If you are interested in the Goodyear UltraGrips I will do these at cost for you for your trouble... PM me if you are interested and I'll let you know the price and how to proceed. Sorry again for the delay getting back to you with a less that ideal response frown

simons220 - Same problem as with Toomany2cvs above - Cooper are a bit of a problem for us at the moment - we are talking to Cooper about getting stock, but probably not going to be in time for your current tyre needs. I do however have a better tyre that I will do you a *very* good deal on from Avon (the same company as Cooper) - the ZZ5s (check em out here: http://www.avon-tyres.co.uk/car/zz5 and here http://pistonheads.tyregiant.com/225-40-18?brand=a... if that would be of interest... I will make them cheaper than the Coopers.... wink

Cheers

That's absolutely fine - thanks for being so honest and open. I'd rather go with "proper" winters, so I'll get 'em on order elsewhere. At least I know that really IS a good price! <grin> I'll definitely have a chat with you next time I'm after rubber.

Hello Travis,

Unless I've missed it on these pages could you update us when you think you might have Toyos, specifically R888 in 225/40/18 and 265/35/18. I'll be looking to buy in the spring.

Thanks,
Rob

Morning all,

simons220 - Discount code sent smile

Blu3R - Hopefully in time for next spring smile We are talking with a load of new brands that have been called for by the PH audience. Obviously nothing happens over night, even less so over xmas, but the wheels are in motion (so to speak biggrin) and I expect to see the range grow pretty significantly over the coming quarter. We currently have over 14000 different tread pattern/size combination, but clearly there are many more to come. If anyone has any special requests, let me know here and we'll add them to the list.

Anyway - I'm off for the rest of the day as it is my 10th wedding anniversary, so I'm off for a lonnggg lunch smile

Cheers

Travis

Go check http://pistonheads.tyregiant.com for a chance to win your tyres throughout December!

Hi Travis.

Had the Conti's fitted this morning at my local tyre centre, I've used them many times over the years and despite this being an internet sale they took a lot time and care. I mentioned that the 993 used alloy wheel nuts so everything done with a hand socket and torque wrench.

I had a chat with the manager whilst the tyres were being fitted and he comented that he couldn't get even close to the price you did for me.

So many thanks for the great service, don't suppose you do bike tyres do you?

Cheers Travis. As said, no hurry on them, The ContiSports have only 350 miles on them (new car last week) so unless I manage to burn through them at a ridiculous rate, should be a while yet. Of note, a lot of places sell the MPSS that fit my front wheels, just no-one seems to do them for the back.

TonyF55 - Apologies, I missed that. We only do car and van tyres at the moment as all our history and infrastructure is geared towards car and van only. Maybe one day in the future, but no time soon I'm afraid.

Good afternoon all,

simons220, that's is great news smile

unsurprisingly things slow down for tyre fittings over xmas. I will however be checking this thread periodically over xmas - so do feel free to drop me a question or a challenge smile

if not though, hope everyone has a great xmas and new year smile

Cheers
