Evening all,

I have a meeting first thing tomorrow, but will get on everyone's requests straight after smile

Jamoor - fair comment and I can see why that would make sense... The reason is because I run several tyre sites under licence from other brands. I am contractually obliged not to publicly undercut the prices on these sites... However 'private deals' between me and my fellow community members gets round that in the instance that the site isn't already the cheapest out there, which it frequently is smile

As I've said before, I really want this initiative to work for everyone... PH community members using the site should get the best prices going, but if they find cheaper elsewhere this forum lets me sort that out; thereafter a cut of each deal goes to Haymarket so they can keep things going and my company gets the rest...

Aside from all that I am quite enjoying getting involved with the community after many years of being more a reader than a contributor. smile

Cheers all,

Travis

What is your best recommendation for a 2011 RS6 Avant, needing 275/35/20 102Y rating.

And your best price for 4 tyres fitted? smile

Dealer is quoting me for some Goodyear Excellence 275/35R20 102Y XL ROF, but I've not heard anyone with an RS6 comment on them yet. Michelin Pilot Super Sports might be a good choice, but I'm open to suggestions!

Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 2 in 245/40/17 91 Y for the rear of my Honda S2000.

Tyre Giant price for 2 tyres delivered - £231.98

Tyre Leader price for 2 tyres delivered - £189.78

I think you can guess where my money has gone.

Afternoon PHers!

One by one as usual smile

timetex - Sent you a PM earlier with a price for your tyres - let me know if you want to go ahead and I'll sort you a voucher smile

sam1176uk - Hi Stuart, I have sent you an email in response to last nights smile Let me know wehat works for you and I'll get it sorted.

Al U - Thanks for your input. As mentioned quite a few times on this thread, and acted upon many times more if you find a price on Tyre Leader that is cheaper than on the Pistonheads Tyres site, just let me know and I'll sort you a voucher to beat that price - simples - or at least I thought it was wink

Plus of course the tyres I supply will come from UK stock available for next day fitting nationwide, rather than from the continent with variable results... and will help keep PH ticking along too smile Next time give me a chance to beat the price and I'll do my best to impress smile

Cheers all,

Travis

Hi dopamine, thanks for the response. This leaves me feeling how I do when my insurer sends me a stupid renewal quote, I phone them up telling them I'm going elsewhere and they then ask how much and say they will match the price. If you can do it that cheap in the first place then why not put that as the price? I'll take your comment on board though and given the amount of mileage I do, in the near future when I will be in the market for tyres again I'll ask the question before going with tyre leader.

Hi Al U,

Thanks for the reasonable reply smile I was actually asked the same thing by Jamoor yesterday, my reply is at the top of this page, but basically, it is just a case of me not being able to openly undercut other sites I run under licence for other companies, but I can do 'private' deals with my internet buddies wink

Let me know next time your in the market and I'll sort you out smile

Cheers

If you had something to sell, would you advertise it at the absolute minimum that you would accept for it?

If you were selling your car and thought it was worth £1,000 to £2,000, would you put it up for sale at £1,0000?

I do wonder how much people actually think before criticising businesses for not offering their services at cost (i.e. to make 0 profit).

Good prices on that site!!

So far as I can tell though you don't have to be a member on PH to get the deals, just browse to pistonheads.tyregiant.com and anyone can get the cheap prices

Hi Travis,

I need 2 new tyres for the front of my car.

they are 205/45/17 and I was considering either Avon ZZ5 or Kumho KU39.

Can you recommend a good mid-range tyre (Was after Pilot Super Sports but that's a no go.) looking to spend about £100 a tyre.

I think that makes three of us looking for a 205/45 17 then...

My Hankook Ventus V12 are toast and I'm ideally looking for a pair of Conti Sport Contact or Pilot Super Sport, I could be tempted into something else if the price is right. After a non-run flat.

Cheers!
