Lord Grover - Apologies you got bumped. I can't ask why at the moment as Customer Services have gone home, but will try to get clarity for you tomorrow. I expect it will be that you are geographically distant from the warehouse that had your tyres and we couldn't shift them to your fitter quickly enough to guarantee your chosen slot. This happens sometimes if we have low stock, and the stock we do have is in only one depot... 500000 tyres at anyone time is quite the logistics exercise, but I still find these occurrences frustrating, because I know you do too. I will have a look at your order and see if I can discount it for your trouble.

Hello Gents,

LordGrover - No worries, thanks for the order smile

timetex - Good stuff - let me know how you get on smile

PhillipM - I can't get hold of the Fedimas frown. The closest thing I have in that size are BF Goodrich Mud Terrains - would you be interested in those? I expect they are probably not knobbly enough?

Antspants - email sent smile

Cheers

Travis

That's a pity, no, the BFG's aren't really aggressive enough for us, thanks anyway.

hehe
There's a build thread in 'Readers Rides' if you want to waste about 8 hours of your life....

Insa Turbo's or Technospeeds I think are the other options, if you can get those, unless you know anything with a similar pattern (they're all similar to the Yokohoma Geolander M/T's, just with reinforced sidewalls and soft compounds)

Hi mate.

Don't know where I got the tyre size from, they are 205/45/17 but happy with 40 profile if cheaper.

Cheers!!

Your reg. no. database is wrong. It comes up with completely the wrong model for my car and offers me tyres which would never fit.

I've fed a few 'plates in it seems to come up with correct model?

It gets quite a few wrong, whether it correctly IDs the car or not - my plate comes up with the car it was on in the summer. The original plate comes up with 2 options for tyre sizes, but neither are correct for our car (for 20s it comes up with a 255 when 265 is correct)

If I put in the details for my S8 that came from the factory on 20s, it comes up with a 17" fitment only - 17s don't fit over the brakes, and neither do most 18s except the OEM wheels for lower specced models. 20s aren't listed.

Basically it's only a rough guide - you might get lucky but no substitute for checking the tyres on the car, or the tyre pressure label

Cheers, reply sent with current tyre load ratings. Just need a date that they can be fitted so I know where I'll be and can confirm a fitter.

Ive had a ok at your ist of places to get them fitted, none of them I would use (mainly Halfords), do you have a mobile fitter option? I always find these guys to be the most professional and convenient.

That will come in handy when I next need tyres, was on the site today looking at some 225/40 ZR18 Pirelli Rosso P Zero Tyres, and I was wondering why when using the number plate search my tyres came up as 215/40 18 Z089? Also it might be handy to have an option to say 'No thats not my size, it should be...".

My dimensions come from the Subaru Brochure, and match what is currently fitted, so one would imagine they are correct. I can PM you my Plate Number if this would help you.

ETA just seen below will stick with looking at what's fitted and using that information.
