Is it still worth asking for advice / decent price in here - seems to have dropped away since the earlier days?!

If so - I'm after something decent in 215/55/16

For a SAAB 9-3 that does absolutely nothing but plough up and down the motorway, high mileage per week so something that lasts well, is good on the fuel consumption and isn't too noisy. I'm less concerned about the characteristics displayed when cornering at high speed!

Do you price match if it can be found for cheaper elsewhere?

I have just ordered x4 195/50/15 Uniroyal Rainsport 3 82v for £35 each, delivered. from EARS.co.uk

However they are £50 each on your site currently.

Just asking for future reference.

Thanks.

Hi

Unfortunately we are unable to price match, we offer the best price we possibly can.

Guys, I need some tyres for my Mazda 6. The current Goodyear efficient grip performance ones have squishy sidewalls. So, I want a sporty tyre with firmer sidewalls like the OE Bridgestone ER300s, which I would be happy with again, or another make in 205/55/16 (91V) which also has a good solid sidewall and one which doesn't flex.

Any recommendations? You must have a fair idea which tyres flex more than others!!

Wow, I've just priced identical tyres to the ones I've just bought from blackcirlces (Kumho KU31 for my wifes car) and you are quoting £90 a tyre, blackcircles were £51 a tyre fully fitted.

Are you sure you are giving a discount and not a premium to pistonheaders?!?!

It's probably the same as Adrian Flux who offer a 15% discount for PH forum members.

When you get your quote and then ask for the discount, they tell you it's already been applied rolleyes

Can you price a pair of cheapo Nexen N'Priz 4S in 215/60r17 flavour please? If not, I might be convinced to push the boat out for Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Seasons if the price is right...

I'm in the market for 4 x Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 235/45R18 98YXL

TyreGiant price - £121.60 (Joe Public website from a Google search)

PistonHeads/TyreGiant price - £121.70 (following the dedicated link at the front of this thread)

following the order process I find my nearest local fitting centre is Formula One Autocentre locally. All good, and I'd chosen fully fitted rather than delivery at the top of the page. But. There's no confirmation anywhere other than the four "featured tyres" at the top of the page that the price is definitely FULLY fitted, balanced and disposal included. This would help you, as I somehow managed to order the tyres (x 4) from Formula One Autocentres direct for £122.50 a pop.

So not ordering from TyreGiant has cost me £3.20/£3.60 depending on how you link to the site. But F1 Autocentre were VERY clear that this was the final, total price for fitted tyres, and they were available a day ahead of TyreGiant.

My point? Why is there 10p added to the 'special' PistonHeads price?

Why, aside from that little 10p error (presumably) does it not look like PH 'special' prices are any lower than those available to the general public? It appears to be exactly the same page with a banner across the top.

You'd need to be a fair bit cheaper, per tyre, than the competition, for me to be scrabbling around to cancel my current order to re-order from TyreGiant.

And now, even as I've typed this post, the duplicate (on both pages) of the tyre I wanted has been removed. Funnily enough it's the cheaper of the two listings for that tyre that has gone. Now your price is £123.00 per tyre for the PH link, and the non-PH google result alike. So I'm no longer sure whether I've saved myself £2.00, or cost myself £3.60?

Jeez. This tyre buying nonsense is hard work. If only someone could simplify the process, and offer PistonHeads forum members a genuinely reduced 'special price', so significantly lower that it'd be a no-brainer to order from them, then I think we'd all be onto a winner...

headache

ETA: I've now re-read the header article, and noticed mention of Discount Codes, and messaging 'Dopamine' direct. So maybe I'm being unfair, and TyreGiant might have been able to offer a discount. But I'm not a massive fan of buggering about with emails to beg for a 'discount' that's already been offered in a featured article on here. Nor is it great to be farting about with discount codes either, as i rarely pay that much attention to the PH newsletters when they hit my inbox. Can you not simply have a link whereby only logged-in PHers can access it, with a full suite of "lowest possible prices" already discounted. It may be naive of me, but it's how my little brain works. Ultimately I've entered into a contract now with another supplier, so it's by-the-by. I'm just trying to give a bit of honest feedback about how the process felt to me. I'm doing my best not to let it sound like a big whinge.
