Wow. Really like this a lot. Goes like the bloody clappers, sounds great (may be fake, dont care!), and looks absolutely stunning.

But the roadholding is very poor? Wasn't even raining today.

Saw one in leeds the other day and it looked stunning. Never really thoughtmuch of it from ghe pictures i'd seen, especially the alloy wheel design. But in the flesh it looked incredible and a very futuristic design in a good way.

seen one in Newcastle a couple of moths ago looked great from every angle, sadly seen one that had been smashed last night here in Jeddah looked a right mess

Each to his own. I saw one on the road in Peterborough near the BMW garage (how odd!) and thought meh.

I will admit to thinking it was impressive if not attractive in the images, however now I have seen quite a few in the flesh I don't think it's as interesting to look at, just deliberately modern.

I cannot understand ordering one of these over a higher end Tesla for the proper electric car experience. Reading the reviews the i8 seems to fall short of the likes of a 911 in terms of the drive.

The p85 Tesla I drove was not for me, but even I can see the glimpse of the future it gives so I can understand why people might buy one!

Whilst I think it is a much better take on the Chevy Volt concept from a few years ago, I think the car is quite ugly in person and I highly doubt the 3 cylinder turbo will realistically last a long time. It is too small of a motor and under way too much stress.

Is this the one that looks like it's having a 911 pooh?

Soo, while I do think it looks fantastic, I do find myself wondering why manufacturers seem confident enough to produce such a bold modern design for an EV but shy away from it with conventional IC cars!

Every single EV that's come to market looks as though it's out of BTTF 4 and looks fresh, it's time we saw this type of thinking in our run of the mill cars, or are they not 'modern' enough to warrant it?!

Vines Guildford, yes? I'm borrowing that car tomorrow evening! Had a couple of goes in it already - impressed enough that mine's coming in April...

Out of interest (and not questioning your decision as I am not in a position to order either) why this over the higher powered Tesla models?

Correct. Enjoy. Dont look at the curbed wheels (not me!).

Why anybody would consider one of these over an M4 is beyond me.

I really like these, and white is not the best colour.

One question, I've managed to view one in the flesh close up and climbed in and out of it a couple of times..what's the consensus on the wide sill and drop down into the seat, I could imagine it becomes a real PITA, especially when wearing a suit on a rainy day (and having to sit on the sill while you swing in)

I was told order today for sept 1st delivery - which doesn't sound to bad ??

better looking, more interesting, quieter, not named after a motorway, more innovation, great for sneaking up on blind people, doesn't have the M car image

I've got an i3 for every day, so this will be my weekend/fun/touring car, including trips to the Alps, Scotland etc. A Tesla wouldn't cut it for that, and while they're mentally quick (and I haven't even tried the latest high-powered version), they look a bit meh to me, and the build quality is still a bit iffy. I don't like Italian stuff generally, and I've done R8 & 911, so an i8 fits the bill nicely as the next new interesting thing. And it's got doors that open upwards, for crying out loud! smile
