Just mailed seller as would love to own this.

ETA - It sold yesterday. frown Going by what the owner said, whoever bought it got an absolute bargain! Just hope it's not gone to a trader though.

That was far far too cheap, what was the seller thinking!!
Just an honest mistake. It had sat in his garage for 10 years and I guess he just figured that was all it was worth.

Well looking at the MOT site it was last submitted for test 2 years ago and failed fairly badly. I still think it's a good price but not that good given what it would cost to get it back on the road. There was a really nice one (MOT'd and ready to drive) for sale near me that the seller was struggling to get £2750 for, I think all the ones at dealers with £5k+ price tags might not be selling terribly fast.

Ahh, he failed to mention anything about the MOT failure. As you say, price may well be what it's actually worth after all.

Even despite the MOT failures I still think it was cheap...

That looks formidable, but it's not too bad really.

It's an old Lotus. That's pretty good IMO.

I paid 4K for an Excel with a year's MoT last year. It is pretty good mechanically, has excellent bodywork and paint, but has a faded and tired interior. The head gasket was on the way out, and now needs doing, but overall the heap's not too bad. Excels are great fun to drive and quite practical as two plus twos go.

That looks a long list but it's pretty simple. It needs a proper full suspension rebuild, a new exhaust, new tyres and a light bulb. Bargain.

Considering the tyres are over 15 years old it has not exactly seen much use.

Not so sure about that.

Remember the MOT only looks at certain things, it is not an exhaustive list of everything that is wrong with the car.

Never heard of Deals, Wheels and Steals, so I look it up...

Not one for me I don't think. ITV say it's target audience is broad housewives with children.

Well, that's true: for all I know the engine's seized, the brakes are rusted on and every electrical circuit in the car is defunct.

Maybe, it is a Lotus after all laugh

I wasn't thinking that bad but I bet a few issues on a car like that could quickly add up.

Quite spritely performance, I didn't know they did a sub 7 sprint to 60.

I'm surprised GT4 values have remained relatively untouched amidst the current retro/future classic bubble.

What other Homologation specials can you still buy for thread budget?
