Not something I'd own but it's very cool looking for the right person.

Some decent wheels and lose the tacky DTM exhaust and I'd like that a lot.

What wheels would you put on? RS four spokes? Ghia alloys?

I'm not sure about the lack of rear door handles. Some low level single roof rails may work? I just checked the Passat GL5 roof rails but they have two bars as I seem to remember the 80s Granada roof rails being.

I would love that in 70's brown, on steel wheels, with a socking great V8, big brakes and decent suspension.

I once got paired up against the mk3 Cortina Estate that ran in the Street Eliminator race series. It wasn't a close race laugh

I'd go with something like Granada Ghia wheels.

If not them specifically then maybe something similar. OZ rally?

Have always liked these.
So cool, way cooler than than a 190 mercer IMHO.
Surely this can only go one way money wise in the next few years.
Would make a lovely little project.

Agreed, though I stop looking at cars to try and make a quick buck out of these days. I look at cars that I want to enjoy. The fact this does both is a win-win smile

Interest comparison, if not completely concurrent models.

The 505 pips it for me.

Yes, the elegant Peugeot just has the edge, but the "grandad" has a square-rigged Germanic style which the globular Granaida Scorpio did't achieve.

Very similar to Montego saloon of same era too.

I'm not sure it's a fair comparison. I reckon there's some Pininfarina in the 505. The Granada is an early 80s facelift of a late 70s car, '76 or '77? where as the G plate 505 is late 80s with a cleaner looking facelift? The rear bumper of the Grananda looks very messy where as by the late 80s it could have had a simpler plastic shroud bumper like the 505.

I'm struggling to explain the differences in door rubbing strips. The 505's seem slimmer and more elegant straight from the box. The Ford's door strips could be functional, but they look heavier and fussier than the similarly large barge fender like strips on the 1982 Audi 100.

Looking at this £3K manual in New Zealand, the rubbing strips look very much like the ones on the 1982 Audi 100:

I forgot about the later 2.8i Capri 7 spoke strafish/petal design with the flush RS centre cap. They may work.

Agreed, so we need to include Nissan Bluebird. Like the others mentioned, attractive in an understated and rectangular way
