Thanks very much and pardon my laziness for not spending time looking at this. I have a car to sell so I might consider it.

Pardon me if its been posted before I didn't have time to scroll 400 pages,

The vauxhall cavalier,
Not a massively great car but very fond memories of my dad driving his own around with a failed crunchy gearbox!

If you can manage to find a 4x4 2.0T then im sure that one would press on!

My grans alcoholic old neighbour had an estate one of these, I vaguely remember it being blue though rather than brown. No idea how or why he acquired it as he never drove it. There were a few local cars collecting moss and rust on a driveway/front garden and I was considering offering to take one off their hands as my first car, thinking I could get a bargain. This Allegro didn't make my list of cars to ask for! Still regret not asking about the MK1 Scirocco though.

Imagine how good it would be with the 197bhp turbo engine out of a Rover 620ti though.

Sticks.

Quite, and not even 'original and unmolested' as described.

What, that E32 de-barged because of the velour? Good velour is MORE bargey than leather, especially on Mercedes and BMW. More comfortable, much longer lasting and far less likely to require expensive rectification. If it were cloth, then ok.

aaaAAAAaaahhh. I like that very much. Might run off and buy it.*

  • although the advisory at the recent MOT that "Body has corrosion to nearside front and nearside rear jacking point" is not ideal, so maybe not. There's other stuff too but it's all simple bolt-on fixes - however, structural corrosion is another thing.

Surely it should be debarged because of the manual box.

Yes, I did understand the "Spanish" reference in last post on the previous page

My own barge is manual. Disqualify it from your vision of bargedom by all means if it pleases you to. Choice of transmission has never been a Barge criterion for me, but if it is for others that's fine.

A barge is a certain type and size of car in my view - and can be either manual or automatic. A manual Mercedes W126 280SE is still very much a barge; an automatic 3 series isn't a barge.

My intention was not to de-barge the E32.

I thought it would have slotted well into both threads. Just chose this one as it was a bit of a curio
