Always liked these you don't see many around now. This or an Elise for double the money hmmm...
I had one a few years ago, mine was scruffy compared to most, a CAT C repaired one. It needed new rear wishbones, a new rad and a couple of other things. The Isuzu engine I found was a pig to work on mainly because of the lack of space When the car was on form, there was a really nice sense of occasion driving it. With the Everest chip upgrade it was knocking out just shy of 200bhp from the 1.6, which was really really good fun in 2nd and 3rd.
If you're bothered, yes the roof leaks and you'll need a towel over your right knee in any kind of rain. If you're over 6 foot and get height from your legs it's not the easiest of cars to live with, but if you're coming from an S2 then I guess you'll know about Lotus and seating positions for taller people.

Never seen one before. But a lot of want right now. Are they as good as the spec makes them out to be?
There are two versions, visually almost identical. The early ones handle like a cow on roller skates. The one you want is the later model with working suspension (done by Lotus). The "HBL" moniker on the car in the advert stands for "handling by Lotus" so that is one of the much better ones. (Of course that won;t help much if it's all worn out, and I have no idea if you can still get the bits to refresh thee cars. But it could be worth a look). golfer19 said:

Green over gold BBS always works for me.

It's a Manta with a good engine in a space age suit.
Plenty of tuning and off the shelf parts that could be fitted to it though I guess.
I think I may have won the thread
Love this, tempted to get it as a daily. I used to hate Renault 5's as a teenager but they've really grown on me.
