I'd open the bonnet, take one look then back away slowly.

I love the SM, but I'm not sure I'd want that SM!
I'm with dbdb on this. I love those cars, but that one would give me nightmares.

It's not even as if you could buy one of them and replace the mechanics with something more reliable or even modern.

I'm not saying it's impossible but you'd be spat at.

I've always thought they were hideous, but that silver example is considerably less grim looking than usual.

It's a manual. The auto was pretty conventional looking.

The TR7's looks do seem to divide people.

The VW Corrado is a car I don't 'get'. Loads of people on PH seem to go quite potty with love for them, but whilst I certainly don't think they're hideous, they do nothing for me at all. The RX7 on the other hand is a lovely thing.

Thought these were mingin' when they first came out.

Usually my taste softens a bit but no, still mingin' :-)

If you've driven a good one you'd get it. They are generally considered to be one of the best handling front wheel drive cars ever.

I had a 16v Corrado as a company car back in 1990. I was absolutely fantastic to drive and very practical with it. I have to say that I would rank it in the top 3 of all the cars I have ever owned/driven.

I did like the exterior of them - the interior on the other hand frown

They're just your typical 80s/90s VW/German interior.

Yes they look dated now but were generally well made.

A few mates have had VR6s/Storms and they are a lovely car if well maintained.

I haven't driven one, so you may well be right. I had a Nissan 200SX back then which I found a much more appealing car, all-in. I liked its gung-ho nature! biggrin

That's a SWB rather than a LWB.

Either way, with 120k miles, it looks nice for the money for an Aus car (generally European cars cost a lot more in Aus than equivalent cars in the UK, from my experience).

That Fiat looks cheap - a very similar one is for sale on carandclassic for £7k. This one is about half that price - bugger the shipping costs!!
