117 bhp isn't a lot for a 2 litre twin cam!
It was in '89!

No it wasn't. Even back in the 80s you'd expect more than that. That's more like the output you'd expect from an 8valve engine.

It does seem a little under stressed doesn't it?

The Vauxhall 2 litre 16V was about 160 and the VW 1.8 16V was 139.

Either way, that does look like the car that time forgot.

That Clio looks good value, fair chance you'll see it soon for sale on KGF or the like for the double the money.

I know a guy who had a Bluebird from 1989 (brand new) until 2004 when he bought a used Rover 600.

What an anecdote!

He was a work-shy union wker.

Got to be. Aesthetically I slightly prefer the 16V. Those wheels! lick

Another Renault I rather fancy

The Ford single cam (Pinto) injection was 120 bhp in 1986, the 1989 I4 twin cam 8v was initially 125 bhp (designed for the Granada with a broad torque curve) and the 16v (FWD RS2000 etc) was 150 bhp. Vauxhall had claimed 130bhp for their injection engine from 1986 or so, but it rarely dynoed at that.

That wee clio is smart, but I'd have had the 1.8 rsi earlier in the thread for sentimental reasons.

I'm looking for something interesting soon, as I have a summer of sunshine (Hopefully) ahead and a desire to spend the newly extended limit on my credit card. Considering all that, this dented old beast looks like fun.

The last one will go massively over budget. But I don't care as it's cool biggrin

If so I'll take it now, don't bother to wrap it

Shame it's so far away to go and view

I generally dislike cars in white, but like the look of that. Looks like you can see the original blue showing through in the last picture though, so I'd be inclined to really check the quality of the respray and resto.

I know that toys tend to have high numbers of owners, but 11 previous will put some people off.

Very. I just tell myself that I'm browsing for the thread and then bad things happen.

I rather like that. The e23s are proper old school to drive compared to later BMWs.

There's something appealing about this 221k mile scruffy 560. It would make a mean city car. http://www2.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
