An original condition Mk2 Corolla 2 door, wow. That's a real everyday classic I reckon.

And not really retro, but pretty tasty all the same

Were it not for the fact that I knew I would end up spending another significant four-figure sum on it (Cambelt service will need doing pretty much ASAP, then tidying up... then Q2/Quaife, 330mm brakes, Ragazzon... hehe) , I would be all over that.
It's a gorgeous colour.

So much want.

cloud9 I really don't know why I love old jap stuff so much, but I do.
Some of the Japanese cars are quite attractive - this one is quite pretty.

Most of them were not good to drive or travel in as a passenger though, even for the time.

Bargain. Thanks chaps.

Might do a sump drop myself if I keep it long enough.

Do you know if Vauxhall Structure steelies will fit?
If they are the ones I think they are (the fake alloys on the 98-03 astra?) Then yes they will fit fine. PCD, Bore and offset are all teh same as the SAAB as far as I can remember.

I currently have Alfa giulietta alloys as my winters, and plan to have Alfa Brera's as my summers

Love the 205 and great to see one with that sort of mileage too.

I'm starting to prefer the purity of the 1.6 overthe 1.9 lately

Great colour. Wonder what it will finish at?
I had one of these. Appallingly unreliable. A fried with a V70xc of the same era reports the same.

I've had 3 of this model, and my experience is quite different. Wonderful cars, utterly reliable, and a hoot in a straight line.

Agreed, great machines. Had my p1 awd 6 years this year and it been excellent.

I really don't get Jap cars, they make it look as menacing as that, give it a whacking great turbo, and then give it an interior that looks like it's come from a poverty spec micra...

I've fancied a Stagea for ages and this ticks most of the boxes! (I'm surprised I haven't seen it around TBH, the phone code's really close to me).

I'll see how it looks to me tomorrow in the cold light of sobriety...

I have sent the seller a 'tentative' email.

That's stunning, every time I see one of these I harken back to when I damn near bought a minted 31,000 miler off the isle of man.

I would've gone for it but chickened out due to it having spent a good few years in South Africa with no history for that period of time. I should have bought it, it was only 3 grand!

To think what it would be worth now, even though I would have had to use it as a daily, it would still have been crazy low mileage.

I should've taken more risks frown

Sorry for posting more Volvos...

Lose the bonnet bra and the huge exhaust, and this looks pretty wicked

Me too. Until a couple of weeks ago when I sat in the saloon version (the newer ones that are around for about £5k at the moment).
Everything in the cabin that looked nice in the photos turned out to be cheap nasty hard plastic. Maybe acceptable at shed money, not what I expect from such a serious vehicle at several grand...

I remember sitting in an R34 GTS thinking the same thing. I hadn't realised it was possible to make an interior feel that cheap.

Take the bra off that and I like it! (Not the first time I've said that)
