Ahhhh I can almost smell that. Reminds me of my old RX-7. Japanese cars have a comforting smell for me. Yes I'm weird like that.. Love this.
It is true that cars have a characteristic smell. I've never been keen on the Japanese car smell - but old British car smell Jags have is marvellous to me.

£5k Turbo R. OMG. My mates dad had a new one of these in 1986 (as a chauffeur) and used to give us a lift to school, we were 10. Best car ever! smile

Not an expert, but that does look good. Luckily there are some experts that frequent this thread and the barge thread.

EDIT: Ahh.. just spotted the exhaust! It's been discussed over on the Barge 1-5 thread

That Trevi has been for sale since Christ was in shorts. I think I posted it on another forum that has a similar post 2 years ago? I don't think the price has changed much in all that time either!

One of my all time favorite wheels. Talk of engine swaps etc puts me off.

We hired a Mitsubishi MPV last year and it took me right back to our Galant in Singapore in the 80s. Its a fusion of plastics. Love it. Miss it. I'm going to buy that Z just for the nostalgia!

Love the British smells too. The American cars have their own smell too.

I can see why. It should put me off too because it's a Cossie with the Cossie engine removed. Of all cars. Why do that? But for some reason a Sapphire Cosworth with a Turbo Technics V6 just appeals to me. I wonder if it was a period mod? Turbo Technics heyday was around the Sapphire Cossie's market time. It wouldn't have seemed so sacrilegious back then.

Why rip out an engine with easy 300bhp potential and put an old V6 with a Turbo conversion with less potential?

£2000 doesn't sound a lot for the Trevi ,albeit the geeky 4 door version of the rusty Beta.

Try finding another and it's being sold at Walkers the Lancia specialist.

I ran a Trevi for 30,000 miles and many happy memories of it. The dash is the oustanding feature, if Joules Verne designed a dash then it would be like that.

Probably cost had something to do with it perhaps, YBs pricier to rebuild...or just preferred the V6 burble. The 200bhp will make it keep up with traffic anyway
