I'd say it looks like a decent car for the cash.

Hi folks,
Long time lurker, just registered. My brother (Johnnytheboy) and Dad (AAGR) are both members here.
Thought you´d like to know I just bought this. Remarkably nice thing, not let down by its high mileage. Absolutely original apart from a Sony stereo, I went to see it yesterday morning, did a deal and drove it the 30 miles home through rain and M25 traffic without it missing a beat.
OK it needs a bit of TLC, but it is 25 years old...
And the previous owner was a gentleman. He had bought it for his son to take to university, but apparently it wasn´t good enough (!)

It's great - this thread basically does all my retro browsing for me.

I just looked around the web, and copied the pictures for the two cars above to my computer in order to post the ads here - only to find they were the last few additions to the thread!

Keep it up!

Good choice, and a very cool car, please do not lower the suspension and stretch the tyres onto roller skate rims! It is perfect as it is, maybe with a decent set of Bilstein upgrades.

You're right - it's far too original to mess around. First things first, a big service and going through. No chance of stance.

Not really classic or retro, (yet again all these Mercs above aren't quite either...) but I'm sure it will be in the future:

Behold, a V8 Volvo S80 with 315bhp, 4wd, and cooled seats, 2007 model, £45k new, yours within budget:

Stunning amount of car for the money.

Also, they are more American muscle or Vantage in sound than a Mercedes Lump: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4Vh0eidjUg
They were almost giving these away for a while as the world ended in 2008/9. Some guys on here got great deals.
I'd never heard of it before today, what a cracking car!

HE SAID HE LIMES PRETTY MUCH EVERY CAR ON THIS THREAD.

It must cost him a lot of money in travel expenses and citrus fruit but everyone needs a hobby.

I also like an awful lot of the stuff on this thread, in fact it's fortunate/ unfortunate that I have neither the space or the cash for anything on here at present.

It's a shame so few of these cars are advertised on PH Classifieds as it would make a very interesting '£100k Garage'.
