"Dodge" it is named and "dodge" I instinctively would if I saw that bearing down on me. Wrong in every conceivable way, and therefore almost irresistably appealing.

The swing-out tailgate is hilarious. "Excuse me, would you mind moving your car back seven feet? I need to open my boot".
hehe

You'd have to find somewhere to park it first! The local multi-story is probably out.

Would make a decent upgrade to the bike-lugger though.

I know of a minto looking Alfa GTV 6 (FWD version), three litre Busso engine, manual (I assume six speed), dark blue, tan Momo seats, big cloverleaf wheels, one owner and said to be well cared for. I have seen the car and it looks very spiffy. It is not for sale, but might be if someone made the owner an offer, or so I am told. It's in north London. I may be able to get a photo of it tomorrow if anyone is keen. Not for me, as I have too many heaps.

If it were a standard 1.3 Marlin then yes I'd say you're right. As it stands, it'll probably sell for that kind of money!

Mint EG's are hard to find, if you've got a clean one then they have a good audience out there!

Are they? I would have thought half are owned by old grannies, my mum used to have one before getting a newer Civic. That one looks like an old nail and needs a complete bodywork restoration.

Crack pipe pricing.

With the best will in the world, the colour is a bit sudden for me but it's a very pretty thing I think.
Surely a S2000 is the better buy or the Z4 Mk1 or the Boxster S?
I'd go retro and have a 944 cabrio myself.
As someone said above, not for the £900 they want for that Pug, you wouldn't
These as bad as the Ford, Vauxhall, Renault versions around the same time or just as good as the BMW, Audi variants?

Stolen from another thread. What's not to like here. Classic car which will actually work when you need it to - as in all the time.

That was my thought. I've known a few people who've had them, and it was always as dull but reliable/cheap transport.

My mate bought a 1995 Astra snotter not long ago - he paid £200. It looks no worse than this.

Funnily enough I know the owner of this car and can vouch or it being a decent example on the whole... could be a decent track car.

Admittedly I have not seen the car in a few years so it might have gone downhill..

There's a huge Honda Civic community in the UK, there's multiple forums covering all of the models. EG's are getting harder and harder to find as they get older and most succumb to rust and age.

I didn't say that this car was mint, but it has some nice mods and a B series engine so it will sell for around 3k. A mint standard EG VTI would sell for more.

I've seen people cream over standard 5 door autos with 30k on them etc, I don't get the hype for standard boggo cars, but a mint top spec rare car is a nice one to find.

One mans rubbish is anothers gold I suppose!

And it's running a 200bhp NA 1.8 with an LSD and 6 pot brakes?

I'm not saying it's bargain, but that's no comparison.

I can see that going for strong money, as Butter Face mentions there is a strong following behind these. That would be a laugh to drive with just over 200bhp in a stripped out shell. The wheels alone are worth about £500.

I did ask what made it special! To me it just looked like a 20 year old hatchback (much like an Astra or Escort)

200bhp does sound like fun!

3 grand and the paint doesn't match inside and out and some fker has nicked the carpets!

And I wish Honda fan boys would speak English, EG3 this, EP3 that, CTR widgets. How the heck are we meant to know what they're on about laugh

In fairness, that time it was in context

But when someone writes 'I was in a DC2' my first thought is this:

Maybe the insurance is more? We had one 20 years ago. Rattly, and replacement hood handles were expensive then. It wasn't too bad at keepign water out, but it wasn't that old. I'd think that unless you particularly wanted roo-off motoring, the gti would be more together. Heavy clutch and steering, though no different to the hard gti I imagine.

The CTIs are definitely benefiting from the GTI price rises and are probably quite a good investment, but they're quite different (aside from lack of roof wink )....the CTI has base model subframe and antirollbar etc, base model rear beam, higher ride height, heavier and less rigid shell. The 1.9 CTIs also have a lower output engine than the 1.9 GTIs.
