That's an impressive array of warning lights available, would hope they all extinguish upon starting up! Bit tenuous referring to the plate as "(Hierarchy)" smile
very futuristic anybody here ever owned one?
My father had one, I was very disappointed when I drove it - not fast, unimpressive handling.

My father bought an identical 240 to that in 1989. Same blue, same cream leather. What a car back then compared to fords and vauxhalls etc.

I posted on here a few days ago about looking for an austin 7 to use for our wedding and then to keep long term.

Well today we went and viewed this one and put a deposit down on it!! I doubled my original budget of £2k but theres not a lot of work that needs doing to this one, in fact I would have prefered one in a worse state to have fun restoring but couldn't turn this one down at the price smile
I'm looking forward to collecting it in a few days!

I'd love an old jallopy like that. Not so sure that the wife would.

It looks like the body is a couple of inches too far back on the chassis, but it could just be the camera angle.

Although it sounds like somebody's done all the spending for you.

Lose the BBS's, and a late, small bumper 'valve on bottletops with PAS is as good as it gets for me.

It sounds like it's there or thereabouts on the money doesn't it?

I've also favoured the 8 valvers to be honest. I had an 8 valve Golf when I was 18 and my friend had a 16 valve Jetta, we both preferred the power delivery of the 8 valve even though his was slightly quicker

If that was a manual i'd be on my way to get it asap. That under bonnet pic is unbelievable.

My dad had one (in dark blue) and loved it as did my mother, both said it was one of the easiest cars to drive they've ever had.

An Acclaim (really a Honda Ballade in light drag) is a lovely drive. Surprisingly peppy and nimble.
