Surely if the Avantime is a 'known' and 'recommended' car that's been seen by specialists then you might expect to be complete.... with centre caps.
Missing one centre cap can be considered unfortunate, two could be careless, all four, probably not giving a st? In which case shouldn't you ask about what else has been given a st about?

Why not ask rather than speculate ?
What else looks bad and "not given a st about" to you ? I cannot see much that looks wrong with it

When I worked in France, I stayed with a family for a month learning the language and the man of the house, a dentist, had one of these. I loved it and, for all its faults, it was a marvellous thing. A future classic for sure, if you can tolerate the quirks!

Love this thread... and my first contribution bang on upper end of the thread budget - http://www.taskerandlacy.co.uk/used-cars/jaguar-xj...
. Spotted in the background of a photo of an XK8 I was taking a look at. The interior is a bit of an... acquired... taste looks in pretty good nick. Looks like it's sitting a bit low in the rear for my tastes.
Not to my tastes though, I was never a fan of this era of Jag, though when this old monster first hit the road I was in early single digits.

It does need re-acquiring with some pepperpot alloys, though.

This years winter hack is a 2003 Mercedes 180k Coupe. Fancy that, a two door supercharged rear wheel drive Mercedes for £900!
Some blebs around the extremities of course, but heated fully functioning heated seats, a slick 6-speed manual 'box and new tyres make up for that. Amazing what you can find these days.

You are very welcome, I already have a convertible with my 500SL. It looks like a nice car though, but as always check for rust. A BMW enthusiast friend really regrets selling his - the 323 engine isn't particularly fast, but it's nice and smooth and makes for a pleasant open top car.
Good luck!
Roof needs attention, couldn't find any rust, however a couple of things about the "deal" made my spidey senses tingle... but I'm sure it will be the perfect winter runabout, so I went ahead and did the right thing.Good luck!
Congratulations Deeen. Not a lot of money for a car like that.

Look at the dash! I guess it must have been seen as the future back then.

As far as I'm concerned manual Mercedes are great in the relatively few instances where they have the grace to be accompanied by a proper handbrake, which is a feature I have always appreciated in the SLK and the 190e. Not sure which if any other Mercedes of the '80s onwards have them.- It's a Merc
