Love the Fiero

One of the few that hasn't had some shonky Ferrari replica body kit bodged onto it, and for that reason alone worth saving.

If the car was a non-sunroof then it might have had a chance at that price, probably the basis of an ultimate historic rally car build. Novas are still very quick and popular on the stages.

As it stands, that's been for sale now for, ooh, 3 years or so. About the same sort of time as I've been searching for a mint, untouched, original red GTE or GSi, for the same purpose as above.

Now presumed extinct. Given up.

I had never heard of or seen a picture of a Fiero before now. It must be one of the coolest of sporty American cars.

I think most of the Fieros I've ever seen were masquerading as Ferraris. They were the default option for turning into Ferrari replicas before the MR2.

What a waste of a rare American mid engined sportster. It seems like the US MR2 or Matra Murena.

I remember when it came out. It was sorta kinda the US MR2, but without the engineering quality, and originally intended as a two-seat commuter car rather than a sports car. Was a legendary dog when it came out, with a terrible strangled and overweight 2.5 litre 4-pot churning out a throbbing 90 hp or thereabouts, and deeply incompetent suspension. But always quite good looking and with some sensible constructional features.

Later models were significantly improved and the later 2.8 V6 GT models (like this one) were actually deemed by the US motoring press to be not bad at all.
