Very nice. I'd like that
I like the idea of it but I suspect the reality is not quite so good.

You'd certainly want a few grand in the bank to cover any issues that you uncovered as well as the inevitable suspension wear that ruins the handling.

Not sure that I am brave enough to get into a 172k mile M3, particularly one that has been lightly used over that last couple of years.

This looks so charming. Could I use it as a city runabout?

I could quite happily run that as a daily biggrin

Though this is an older ad, it might be a better buy:

I have plenty of covered parking so could chose when to take such a car out. Very tempting!

My two current cars are a mere 24 years old so I am sure there will be some (fun) learning with something much older.

Much better as a city daily than a Minor, in my view.

Any Moggy Minor experts about ?

Is the lack of synchromesh a problem for stop start city driving ?

We had a pickup at the SAAB garage I worked at and crunching 1st gear was a daily annoyance.

Not a Minor expert but driven lots of old cars and double de-clutching will solve the crunching.

sry....BOTH ...Car & Classic....my bad

The Renault Dauphine is VERY good value for that quality of design, with so many French in London I would think its re sale value would be very good as well if it is as good as it looks.

I'm looking for a smallish car to add to the fleet when I get my small £0k-£5k sized 'bonus' early next year (or before for the right car!). So far my thoughts are a merc 190 - I'm such a massive fan of old mercs I'll like this (but given I have a W124 already is it more of the same, I'd like a manual car), 205 - maybe even non GTI versions, or an older classic like the Minor.

I have no need for the car, however I expect my cars to be able to do 1,000 miles on a whim!
