It's easy to hate the TR7 and I do.

We all have differing taste. I quite like the TR7 with a V8, but wouldn't want the Celica. I would prefer a 200SX if I was buying a Japanese sports car.

I have fond memories of a friend's Integrale.

Don't know anything about these, but it looks cool.
Random trivia 1 - The 3.8 six is a development of the Trimuph six - yes really.
Wow. Never knew that! Wonder if it would fit....

e23 735 with a speedo odo reading 22k miles (which probably means it is broken, mine was!) http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C578334

EDIT: 22k mph would be slightly excessive!

If you look up the skirt to check the bushes, have a feel of the subframe. I don't know if it's an age thing but I've heard more about the bushes on more modern Alfas inc. the 166.

Good luck. smile

My max bid was £1850 and it went for £1950, probably a good thing as we've a baby coming in April and I've only just bought a new gearbox for the Beetle eek

I have a bit of a soft spot for the sporty old nissans. My mum had an automatic S12 Silva ZX turbo when I was a kid and I can remember her getting it sideways once or twice (unintentionally). I can only imagine what fun the SX would be, with the manual box and a little turbo tweak.

That looks like it could be a really nice one with a bit of TLC to the paintwork. Price seems a bit steep though? But I admit I'm not an expert on the market for this type of car.

Confirmation, not that any was needed, that W00DY can pick 'em:

The Toyota out tartan rugs the TR7. wink

Nor me. When I watched Harry Metcalfe's Testa Rossa video I thought it sounded like a V6 Alfa, but Jag XK and 6 cylinder Triumphs sound better to me sometimes. The 3.8 US version of the Triumph 6 pot sounds almost twice as good?

So some Triumph owners stateside have put that engine in Spitfires and TR6s?

Just supurb. This is a guilty pleasures thread. A old, gold, 2.0 Sierra. Not allowed anywhere else, yet we can post it for retro reasons here and take an unhealthy interest under cover of this banner.

Retro question. What was the thinking behind the thing hanging down at the rear? Anti static? I've not seen one for years now!

A very 'cute' looking car for £2,750 and 48k miles http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C545549 (I have no idea whether this is good value in mini terms though!)

Amazingly original! A bit of time warp motoring

Photos taken with a white background and dealer plates... a classic... retro?

Sorry but no amount of nice photography and advertising puff is going to make a 2.0 GLX Mondeo appealing to me. Never going to be a classic is it? Even in 10 years time.

Even if I needed a car I would struggle to part with more than £700 for it.

Tbh that's probably what they were saying about the rare cars of today though. 10, 15 years time, 4star classics is going to be full of mundane 90's cars

You say that, but look at the gold car above it. Give it another 10 years. There's almost as few mk1 Mondeos left as Sierras already! laugh
