They used to be reasonably common - golf gti engine - haven't seen one for a while though. Would have been nice with the 5-pot out the earlier CD

The Mk1 Mondeo brought fine handling to the common (family) man. It's a sure fire future classic.

That brings back memories! A mate had one of those when we'd just passed our tests. He was a bit of a loony on the roads to be honest, and I remember being passenger in at least two sideways altercations with walls - the poor 96 was slow but amazingly solid...it escaped these incidents with barely a mark on it. Some time later I heard he'd become a driving instructor
