They used to be reasonably common - golf gti engine - haven't seen one for a while though. Would have been nice with the 5-pot out the earlier CD

Photos taken with a white background and dealer plates... a classic... retro?

Sorry but no amount of nice photography and advertising puff is going to make a 2.0 GLX Mondeo appealing to me. Never going to be a classic is it? Even in 10 years time.

Even if I needed a car I would struggle to part with more than £700 for it.
You say that, but look at the gold car above it. Give it another 10 years. There's almost as few mk1 Mondeos left as Sierras already! laugh
The Mk1 Mondeo brought fine handling to the common (family) man. It's a sure fire future classic.

Posted as much for the comedy disguise of the number plate as anything else.

I can't post pics from work, but first and penultimate are worth a look.

As a car, I'd describe it as optimistically priced.

Unfortunate. He obviously couldn't get his tea towel to stick to the rear plate.

It's a bit of a project, but I think it ought to be saved.

That brings back memories! A mate had one of those when we'd just passed our tests. He was a bit of a loony on the roads to be honest, and I remember being passenger in at least two sideways altercations with walls - the poor 96 was slow but amazingly solid...it escaped these incidents with barely a mark on it. Some time later I heard he'd become a driving instructor eek
