Bought this recently.

Owned by an old fella from 1994-2011 then owned by his daughter who lived in SW1 servicing it at Belgravia garage SW1 and spending a lot of dosh in the process biggrin.
Thats a great buy! It looks great as well even though its in Doom Blue with plastic wheel trims it jut looks right.
These old 190's were so well made there is just something about them that feels incredible sturdy/robust.

friend had one of these some years ago and I had a drive in it. It was akin to piloting a cross channel ferry. It started with the gear lever, which is a column mounted affair with an indicator akin to a ship's telegraph. Select D to put the stokers on alert, then gently press the accelerator. There's a distant increase in noise from the engine room and the rear of the vessel dips before it gradually gathers forward momentum. Magnificent, but it helps if you have your own personal VC-10 if you're planning a long journey.
Indeed.
This Roller is out of budget but had to chuckle as there is only one pic of the car, so its a good one right?
No, the seller is very honest and chose to have one with him refuelling resplendent with WTF-PLEASE-GOD-NO expression as he stares at the pump bill. Suspect his Mrs then uploaded the advert on the spot in blind panic. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C716686

Amusing!

I like that 190. Mine does feel very solid indeed, but then they were expensive items back in the day!

I love how the ad specs that it is a Fuel Injection model, with the owner busily injecting it with fuel!

I'm surprised its so expensive - particularly as it's the saloon and Auto - or is it just me that would want the Manual Estate ?

Not just you, manual estate for me too although I'm more than happy with my earlier 940 RWD car

A manual Gul yellow estate would be nice, but I do like the way the auto's drive I have had a few of both. There is a low mileage 850 R estate on carandclassic in very good original condition, but again an auto

This seems unreasonably good for £5k. Under 70k miles, the 3.2 and a manual. I am not very good at remembering which engines on these blow up all the time. Perhaps this is one of them. While it worked you'd probably be very pleased though. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C736106

Basically if it's a Porsche flat 6 made in the last 25ish years then it's at risk of several different failures even the GT3 that everyone says is fine has problems as my friend who had his "fixed" 3x by Porsche in 3 years, can attest.

Bore scoring / ovaling, IMS, RMS....

but you do only tend to hear of the bad stories, consensus on the facebook groups is that if the engines see good use and aren't garage queens the IMS problems and borescore tend not to happen. I don't own one yet so don't have any personal experience, but can only imagine that the failure percentage can't be that high or you'd see lemons all over the place.

I had a 3.2S Boxster;

Over 120k miles of enthusiastic useage and other than wear and tear never had any issues.
