. These old 190's were so well made there is just something about them that feels incredible sturdy/robust.

This seems unreasonably good for £5k. Under 70k miles, the 3.2 and a manual. I am not very good at remembering which engines on these blow up all the time. Perhaps this is one of them. While it worked you'd probably be very pleased though. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C736106

Basically if it's a Porsche flat 6 made in the last 25ish years then it's at risk of several different failures even the GT3 that everyone says is fine has problems as my friend who had his "fixed" 3x by Porsche in 3 years, can attest.Bore scoring / ovaling, IMS, RMS....
but you do only tend to hear of the bad stories, consensus on the facebook groups is that if the engines see good use and aren't garage queens the IMS problems and borescore tend not to happen. I don't own one yet so don't have any personal experience, but can only imagine that the failure percentage can't be that high or you'd see lemons all over the place.
