Iirc the top left guage is oil pressure. Isn't it a bit low considering it's not fully warmed up? Long time since I had one and I can't remember what's 'normal'.The old Ford water temp senders were a bit like that - if you didn't like where the needle sat normally a new sender might mean it sat slightly different.
The old BMW ones were fairly stable on the gauge for a particular range of temps - I.e. They don't tend to move on the gauge as much

That's not very retro.golfer19 said:
I like these Senators, particularly the egg crate grille. The grey interior is a bit of a put off.

Nice. I thought all these had basically rusted away now. t4thomas said:

The oil pressure gauge on these cars is at best a guess of the actual oil pressure. On my current one mine sits about there at idle and the oil pressure is fine. On my last one the gauge sat at around halfway and rarely moved! That said, better 205s for that money come up if you've got the patience.

Surely simply being old doesn't make this or any other car any less dull than it was when new?

Was looking at that XJ earlier, mascot aside it looks lovely.
Would love a grey 4.2 on Pepperpots.
I thought it looked nice, Pepperpots really suit them. The "Couple of other spots of minor cosmetic rust" might be a bit worse than the seller is making out. I had an XJS the same colour as the XJ. Speaking of XJS's this V12 convertible or (Convetible ) looks nice not a bad price for what these are making now, needs some bodywork (buy it now is over thread budget £6500 but currently sat at £3700)Would love a grey 4.2 on Pepperpots.

I don't really understand the interest in any standard car like this. I mean does anyone get excited by a new 1.6 Focus?

Interest in old cars is mainly nostalgia. It's not about going fast really, it's about how they make you feel.Surely simply being old doesn't make this or any other car any less dull than it was when new?
