Unlikely to be slow as turbo. They are utter bargains, Im amazed the front drive generation dont lap these up.
Looks brill and minty in that red, great spot.
Missed that it was a Turbo, just saw 'SE' in the title and forgot that there was no official 'Turbo' designation.Looks brill and minty in that red, great spot.
Bargain...unless it's a pup of course
No nasties on its MOT history but until recently spent 8 years with out one, must of been in storage

I think it was Jeremy Clarkson who described the MGF as looking like a surprised bar of soap.
Well, the FWD Elan looks like a depressed bar of soap.
I have an irrational love of most Lotus cars. I like the Series 4 Seven and the steaming pile of crap which is the Eclat. I can even find something engaging about the Renault engined Europas.
But there is something about the FWD Elan which leaves me completely cold.
Perhaps I should try one, because they are absurdly cheap.
Supposedly one of the best handling FWD cars going at the time. I never warmed to them, buit can see the appeal if you can look past
- "acquired taste" styling (subjective - I find it anonymous but not offensive to my eyes);
- FWD (not a deal breaker generally, but in a 2 seat sportscar? Really?!); and
- small, 4 cylinder FI engine (portentous in hindsight!)

I had a 309 GTi at the time I had a go in one and I'd definitely agree re the handling benchmarking against stuff like the 309- "acquired taste" styling (subjective - I find it anonymous but not offensive to my eyes);

A bit of low mileage Rover for someone so inclined! Sounds like its had plenty of money spent on it recently so should be cheap motoring for someone.
Just look at those comfy velour seats!!

That lotus seems really cheap.
Slightly over budget but I like this: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C727858#

I didn't know they did 7 series with such a low spec! This may be more suited to the Barges 1-5 thread, but this seems like an utter bargain
