I like the looks, but the ad is not giving anything much else away...
I used to have the 1.7 P4. I loved that car, but the pedal offset used to give me cramp in my right foot on long journeys to the extent that I'd end up operating the throttle pedal with my left foot for short spells.

You'd need to be on some very heavy medication to want to pay three and a half grand for a thirty year old 1.1 Fiesta. I paid £80 for one of these about seven or eight years ago.

what do i need to check out other than hand this guy a wad of cash?!
Advert mentions that the car has a rusty roof.

That usually means a damp cellar, so worth checking out the undercarriage.

Totally agree. For a grand, an old basic Fiesta (with a few more miles) is a nice little novelty runabout. For three and half, there are some much nicer cars you could buy.

Worth a punt at £395?

The automatic box (not sure if CVT) might put some off. KGF classics had an uglier 460 with slightly less miles for £1195 last year, so that 440 is a relative bargain for a Volvo 400 series fan.

Wrong end of the country for me. Good luck with the 505 though!

Not exactly a PH car:

Most of the body repairs have been done using ('pop') rivets rather than welds.

MoT exempt!

Perhaps it should be in the 'Horrors in the classifieds' thread?!!

I had a Scala GT2 in the late 90's. The brakes were absolutely shocking on them (might as well be made of chocolate).

Apart from that I loved that car, mine was that nice jade (?) green they did for the rocco.

I always think that, somehow they've escaped VW scene tax, not sure why I think they're tremendous looking things

Rust, generally. Jerking autobox. They're really built like tanks, not much to worry about.
