Love how those 6ers look so menacing in black. Even if it needs a bit of TLC, that seems good value.

You're wrong.
968 Sports with sensible miles were under £8k if you looked too.
Well I look at cars like that all the time, window shopping but I know i'll never actually buy one, and I think he's bang on. 968 Sports with sensible miles were under £8k if you looked too.
944 S2 values have gone pretty low but only on high milers or cars with issues. A decent condition low milage cars has normally commanded more.
You sometimes find a car like that priced low but that's normally because the seller doesn't know what the cars is actually worth.

Seeing prices for these at the moment make me wonder. Sold my manual sport for a pittance 3.5 years ago - was a cracking car.112,000 miles

A mate bought a lovely S2 a few years ago sub 100k for £2k ! Now that was a cheap car.

The one that got away, except it was black. Went to look at one when I was 17 with my father, after he set fire my first car but that's another story, and he was really keen on me getting it. Went to the insurance office (anyone else remember when they actually had an office you could visit?) and he turned white at the quote so I didn't force him to keep his promise to pay for it.SPT28 said:

Yours does look stunning. Not to make you feel any worse Yes I don't think people realize how much these are starting to go up in price.
Even an auto this is not far off a fair price.
Before long a decent one will be £10k

Would love to know what your father did. Yes I remember going to the insurance office to ask about insurance about possible cars. Use to compile a list which really annoyed the guy.
I can imagine after getting a quote myself aged 18 how much the XR2 was quoted at.
As soon as you mention GTI, XR2, RS, 16V they started laughing.
Never liked that office.

Really? 6 grand?
I knew 996s went cheap, but didn't realise they went as low as that?
I never saw anything lower than 7K and I looked, I really, really looked. Not to say there wasn't some tiptronic POS with a weird interior and galactic mileage out there at that point though.I knew 996s went cheap, but didn't realise they went as low as that?

Renault Clio Trophy
36,677 miles which is extremely low
£102.00 when posted but has a reserve. It might go over £5k but even at the buy it now this would be a lot more at a garage.

Over budget by a grand. But a 2003 Porsche 911 for £5,995 this one has its problems "the engine is mixing water and oil suspected head gasket or cylinder liner" I would suspect its the liners on this? And it's on the register cat c in 2010. Worth repairing or walk/run away?

2 years ago you could have had a clean, MoT'd, not-written-off car for that money. Given an engine rebuild will be £9k, it will have a lot of other issues, and it will always be a bent cat-C that has to be the biggest heap of st ever posted on this thread. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-PORSCHE-911-CARRERA...
