Haven't seen one of these for a long time, Cavalier 4x4 turbo £4,995

Love that! thumbup

If I had the money this would be on my drive.
I always liked the look of the phase one 172. Would be nice to get a standard one to keep or a standard Saxo VTS. I have always liked the VTR and VTS they are getting rare now in good condition

Fantastic thumbup

6-speed box when such things were rare

Couple of unmarked police ones round here back in their day - loved to see them on a "shout" .....remember seeing one hunting down an early E36 325i that came flying past cool

I think I'd go for a nice late VTS over a 1.9 205 without too much hesitation

I'd want an X plate or earlier, £300 a year on tax annoying on most things, let alone a 1.6i hatch

Didn't a pristine one of these go for around 20K not so long ago?

Okay, so this is very far from pristine, but it's also very far from 20 grand!

I know nothing about minis but that's wonderful. I love it!
I've owned a few and that is in great original condition.

Low mileage and rust free body what I can see.
Bound to be some underneath but they are cheap to repair just some bits are awkward.

Skinned my knuckles numerous times when working on the engines of these.

Haven't driven one for over 20 years, wonder if they are as much fun as I remember.

One of those was low miles and fully restored, the other had tiny mileage

My first car was a Mini 850 (well, actually my first 'car' was a van, given to me by my dad on the understanding that I'd stop my obsession with motorbikes which had seen me write two off by the time I was 18) which I used as a student in Birmingham in the late '80s.
It was the first car I was caught speeding in, 65 in a 40 but Birmingham Police wrote to me saying they weren't prosecuting as it was so close to Christmas and they had a lot of drunk drivers to process. But slow down or else....

Big temptation to buy that for my daughter and put it away until she's 18.

That's a rarity, can't remember the last time I saw one. There was a Dutch company (Van Aarken iirc) did a tasty turbo conversion for these back in the 90's. Performance Car mag tested it and their Mondeo 2.0 Si demo together. Sad that I remember it!

Shame it's not on its original wheel trims though (shared with the Mondeo GLX) or the optional 5 spoke alloys.

My first car was a mk3.5 fiesta in that metalic aubergine. always wanted to put Si bumpers on it. got myself a pair of them but never bothered to get them painted in the right colour. I got rid of my car at least 3-4 years ago and I still have those Si bumpers in the shed!

AFAIK those aren't the right wheels for an Si.
