I'm actually in that issue.

I was mentioned in the late, great Phil Llewellin's column. That issue is very close to my heart.
I've just dug it out and read it. Very kind of him.

I'll leave you to share with the rest of the class if you choose to.

Hi, no scanner at home so I've photographed the page and resized it so people can open and expand it.

Cheers

What did the Sud Sprint go for?

Here's a red 4WD 33 for just over £3K currently:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alfa-Romeo-33-Cloverleaf...

Did Alfa over-engineer the bonnet release with a back up cable?
Many wants. Didn't know they did a 4x4 version, they can't have sold many, surely?
I used to have a silver one. The pedal offset was murder on long journeys, but I loved that car. P/Xd it for a TVR S2.

The slightly racist number plate may have to go. biggrin

Sprint went for £8k, fair price IMO. That 33 is just what this thread is about. Never won road tests but I was still a sud underneath supposedly. Lovely flat four must handle great, but the block was cast iron on the sud so probably on this too.
I'm not sure which part of my memory I've dug this "fact" from, but the AWD system was supplied by Subaru, or so I was told.

I share you inexplicable fondness for these. The KV6 engine is a belter, but they seem to have a veryhigh mortality rate in the 825. I can only assume if it's lasted this long it's one of the good ones. I warn you though, Vitesse Sport spec aside they all drive like crap.

I used to get taken to school in an Uno like that. I have vivid memories of my Grandad coming round on winter's mornings to help jump start it.

I pick up my new toy on Saturday which fits right in to this thread. Got an 8 hour round trip ahead of me to get it. I never find anything for sale on my doorstep laugh
Well after posting this ^^

You know that is going to be the biggest heap of turd you've seen when you get close to it right?
Followed by this on that Scorpio estate seems I got them the wrong way round. Hopped on the train at stupid o'clock this morning to buy a mk2 Golf GTI. I'd agreed a price over the phone with the owner as long as it was as described. It turns out we have different opinions on what nice is. My nice doesn't include poking a hole through the floorpan with my finger. Luckily he still gave me a lift back to the station. One day and £140 on train tickets wasted rolleyes

Bad luck, but all grist to the mill for we bargain hunters. Sometimes 'no thanks' (and a sotto voce 'bks') is the right answer.

I passed my test in my Dad's 1.1 with tweed seats. Somehow the four of us once squeezed into it for a holiday to Normandy as well!

He asked me if I'd like to make a revised offer, I declined and told him to take the £3k he told me someone else had offered

Sorry to hear that Fast Bug. This is why mainly try to buy from PHers, preferably from CDG as he has good taste in old barges!

Regarding the uno above my parents also had one (a 45) and took the family of 4 on holiday to Cornwall in it. I remember it stopped working on the way down and my dad used my mum's hairbrush to fix it resulting in a frosty trip.
