He asked me if I'd like to make a revised offer, I declined and told him to take the £3k he told me someone else had offered
Did you see the mk2 GTI I posted above? It's still available.
I was after something a bit special, the one I looked at had only done 80k. Sadly it had been parked in the sea every night though!

That looks fun. An ex-EU document shifter?
I read a story about someone using one to move English newspapers to ex-pat shops in France. Amazing looking things, perfect for mega antique buying trips to provincial French markets.

Is there enough room in the back to sleep? Could be perfect for Le Mans.

Interesting. In France with the class culture, Renault cars (especially at that time) was seen as the cars for Delboy-types.

I wonder what he has been mostly eating this week.
Looks a bit low at the back? Car not level, either.

This,

http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/193663/1991...

Massive soft spot for these, had one in about 1995, loved that car.

They obviously built them well, they just dont seem to rust.

And a bonus one !

Not quite a car and only within budget with a slight haggle wink

I know there is some love for these on PH, I love the idea of one too. Just no space for it, maybe next winter. I can always hope frown

Knocking noise from rear shock and stance like a stting dog? No wonder it's always for sale, it needs a chunk of cash spending on it!

I thought they went for around £10,000 though? so for under £4,000 It leaves a decent amount to bring it to standard, or am I well out with the cost of things on these?

I think the last post on that thread says it all. Very few people outside the trade want to acquire a non-driveable example of a car of this size and weight even if it's free, mever mind three grand plus to cost of moving it to a workshop and then the commencement of restoration.

"That's the thing, isn't it. Without an MOT and fixed suspension it's a trailer job and *then* the repair cost. Hiring a bloke with a trailer isn't cheap and with collapsed rear suspension you couldn't even put it on a spectacle lift because the rear would scrape - it would have to be the full flatbed deal."
