That would be brilliant in gunmetal grey.

Hmm, makes the Jag a bit pricey. Maybe white isn't so bad after all.

Agreed! Old French little cars from this period are great.

The white is a bit wedding, but look at the interior! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-XJ6-Series-3-/152...

Oh dear, full on DCR interior!

It appears some bidding in the pub last night has landed me yet another automotive rarity.

It's very yellow! Will update you all when I collect it hopefully over the weekend

I'd have thought significantly more than that for a well executed colour change which will involve taking the engine out, stripping the engine bay completely and removing quite a lot of the interior trim. I'd reckon £15K for a really good quality job. Plus £5K in parts and welding for the new panels and structural repairs and reworking of previous bodges that most of them turn out to need once you strip them.

Retropower XJC looks good in that colourway.

Don't see why not, if it's in good nick. If I had a nice one of those I doubt I'd want to sell it for less.

TBH I don't think its bad for £2k, but it does need a fair degree of tidying up.

An older C is worth that sort of investment, a 4 door isn't really, nice as it is.

I would make the investment if it were a Series 1, especially if it were a manual 4.2. But I agree it would be a bit quixotic to do it for a later saloon at current values. Not that that's stopped me from similar follies.

Can someone educate me on these. What exactly is a 205 GT?

They were 1 model down from the 1.6 GTI. 1.4 engine probably makes about 85bhp from memory. The 3 door was called the XS, the 5 door the GT.

Any good? Seems a good price considering how much GTI's are worth now.
