Spotted this 306 Cabrio on Gumtree, only £1,500 and 47,000 miles:

This 306 is very local to me so I asked the Mrs if funds might be made available, denied! smile

Hardtop as well, what a bargain. Great looking little cars - one of the few hatchback to convertible things that works design wise.

Might be because it had a boot at that back

Don't think I've seen that body before. I would love a GTI6 in that shape.

You can get GTI-6'd versions for not much more but they're very rare. Get a proper set of GTI-6 cyclone alloys for it too.

I read that somewhere, was it really that bad?
Would my wife notice?

Oh dear, is there a remedy, short of a full roll cage and welding up the doors?
Such a pretty design

Honestly my other half wouldn't notice - no need to cage it.....

My track car before I put a cage in it you could jack it up on one corner and if the door was open you couldn't shut it, if it was shut you couldn't open it

When I fitted a full welded in cage the difference was amazing Mrs BC couldn't notice the difference but if you jacked up one corner the doors opened and shut as if it was sitting in all four wheels.

That's interesting, but quite expensive. This is more everyday, but looks better than a lot of cars for sale for £1k (assuming the MoT's a reasonable length).

What car was that?

Quite a few 1980s and early 1990s cars flexed that badly. Citroen AX - park it with two wheels on the kerb and you can't shut the boot. Or maybe just one wheel. Can't remember how bad it was
