They've had that XM for a looong time. I large part of me wants an XM, but it would have to be a hatch.
Yep, sat for a good time with the dead g-box, they have replaced it now as said above

All of this Citroen nonsense got me looking for an XM. I found this. (terrible quality pictures, though they may have been distorted by the time machine)

They were always ahead of their time.

Not sure how much these go for so could end up over thread budget, but what a rare thing.

Awesome smile. XU9 on twin Solex, tuned by the same guy who did the AX sport. It should reach comfortably over 5k, looks in good nik.
Oh wow! This is just up the road from me and the missus loves a BX.

I've just changed jobs and only have a 40 mile daily round trip from Cardiff into the valleys - Soooo tempting.

I wasn't sure if this should be in here but it might gain classic status soon and looks in very nice condition with the bonus of the MV6 3 litre engine.

Not as cool, but is a Xantia any good for waftiness?
Yes, a bit better because of the extra weight IMHO.

There is always the Xantia ACTIVA if you can ever find one these days, waft PLUS st crazy cornering skills that boggle the mind and leave those who have not driven one doubting your words about them. Unbelievable cars to those unwashed by them.
+1 for the Activa. Still miss mine, bought 10 years ago on eBay for £600 or so. Just an extraordinary combination of characteristics - like finding a joker amongst the laws of physics.

This 306 is very local to me so I asked the Mrs if funds might be made available, denied! smile

Insert generic joke about an ex-girlfriend here.

I drove a Megane convertible that would flash the 'door open' warning light on bumps.

I went to see the car on behalf of Skyedriver.

I took it a drive, drove very straight, pulled well, brakes were excellent, no rattles from engine, box or drivetrain.

The plastic hood window had a 2" crack in it. Drivers side seat bolster BADLY worn, would need a repair. Electric roof doesn't always work but seller had a spare switch + ECU for the roof in the boot.

Wheels and tyres all seemed pretty spot-on, one very tiny kerb mark. Decent heater on it too.

The one thing that let the car down for me was the condition of the bodywork. It looks quite good in the pics, but up close EVERY panel had a scrape, ding or scratch. Paint was peeling off the front bumper. Sure, you can't expect a 16-year-old car to pe perfect, but it really was fairly poor. No rust though.

Seller also had a hard-top for the car (but apparently it is damaged on the corners) and a whole spare 306 Cab spare car that would need trailered away - I didn't see the hard top or the spare car as they were stored elsewhere.

If anyone else is serious about going to see this car drop me an email as I took a video of the car which I can send you a link to if you wish.

Agree. The light curtains in the back sounds wrong but it looks so right.

Anyway, time for me to contribute to the thread, not at the same level but this is rather clean and looks like a good buy if you're into retro Vauxhalls:
