Oh, if only I was in the UK! Are these truly ruinous to keep running? Someone reassure me that it would be financial suicide, please?
No, no ruinous, just not very good.
Pretty mind.
They were well regarded in the early 1980s though.
I posted this a fair few pages back. I love it, it has the look of a real classic.

Might finish above thread budget, but looks nice. Seller needs a better camera though!

If it's as solid as it looks I reckon that will go quite a way over £5k!

A friend of mine turned up (outside the front) to the pub in one of these in mint condition last time I was in London.

So much cooler and more interesting than, say, a modern Ferrari/Mclaren!

Those side exhausts it has....... will they still have that traditional refined Jaguar V12 exhaust note?

The Jag would definitely be perfect for Le Mans and I love it. But what would you do with it the rest of the year?

Not quite retro yet, but a guaranteed future classic.

He's done a pretty good job of it visually. I didn't realise how sporty the XJ40 20 spoke alloys look with the hubcaps off!

Really it needs a manual 'box, to be more like this: XJ-S V12 TWR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAgUtv-5ybw

Edited to add; this is the look he's goingh for!

Half of our budget would get this:

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C580344#

Hopefully all it would need for an MOT is disks as mentioned in the ad. There's are some with an MOT for £5k.

Loving the Alfa 75s and front engined Porsches that have been added

I'm not generally a fan of Volkswagens (my mum had a Golf which I learned to drive in and put me off them for life), but the original Polo is a peach of a car. That one is probably even better in posh Audi 50 guise.
