It's worth it purely for this group.

Some very bad influences
Thanks for the link for that group. Some gems and some interesting cars in there. I'm so going to get in trouble with the wife for rehoming another car. It's easier to get forgiveness than permission, right jester

From memory, most insurers will happily regard anything over 20 years old as "classic".
Some will say it has to be a second car though, or won't build NCD

Gods of the retroness, I call thee for help. Is a 1993 regd old enough for classic insurance? Need some commuting wheels and may have seen some at this age
Depends entirely on the car.

'93 Beemer - yep.
'93 Mondeo - prolly not.

For what it's worth, three years ago I had my 2001 E39 insured as a classic. My current policy - a full-fat fully-comp. one - is only £20 a year more than I paid for the classic policy.

I just bought this lovely 61k 106 GTI

Been looking for a Rallye for ages but saw this pop up.

The whole retro hatch thing is a great thing to get into IMO a lot of cars are still underpriced. This 106 is in amazing condition a real timewarp car. I shouldnt have been able to buy it for £3500 but here it is. Bit of fun and worth way more with a couple of little bits done.
Snap, I've just collected this beauty last week, just 50k miles and an absolute steal. It is in absolutely perfect condition, inside and out. As a bonus it came with a spare set of wheels and suspension as well as a boot full of brand new genuine peugeot spares like a spare wheel still in the box, full set of badges, airbag, gearknob etc which the previous owner bought in preparation for them showing signs of wear in the future!

Lovely, Hi!

All the ones I seem to come across have a big price tag on them or need a lot of work.

You two have done well with those, by the looks of things.

Are you planning on starting a Reader's Cars thread?

Tyre to arch gap seems a bit suspect but otherwise that is lovely

I like the car, but for the money I'd expect it to come on its own wheels, not a set borrowed from a pram...

I think it's probably only clear if you know what a banded wheel is.

To me they look tiny in diameter, the tyres look too small and the arch gap is MASSIVE.
